No ambiance. Service is fair. Selection is poor. Food is too expensive. I’m nice giving it an overall 10/20...

A dark place with the old defunct brew kettle at the entrance. The walls are dark red, dark stone floor and high dark wood panelling. The service is slow and the prices are quite high, probably because of the location, so they exploit the turists. No more of their own beers, but that is not a huge loss, since they were of poor quality as of late.

Visited them earlier today. Apparently they have stopped brewing their own beers. So only pretty regulare Belgian beers available now. Nothing special any more.

House beers no more offered, the waiter explained that they ceased brewing only temporarily due o a slow season but I doubt... A tourist rap, avoid!

Sort of a mix between a dive bar and a seedy tourist trap located in the centre centre. Bit like a brewpub alternative to a Pakistani run tourist shop – bit Belgian English pub looking interiors. Didn’t stay here too long, not much service which is not a catastrophe or that bad as far as I am concerned. Same few standard beers as everywhere else plus their own beers of which you can get a flight which is neat – you don’t get any explanation as to what is what. I find it hilarious that this place is called Brewers of the Big Market (their location), their ‘brewery’ is called brewery and their beers stuff like, dark and darker beer – hope they didn’t get dizzy from creativity :) The beers struggle a bit more to be drinkable liquid rather than beer, heavily metallic etc. stuff. You can try them once but that is sort of it. It is not a terrible as you might fear by the ratings here but it is pretty bad – that is for sure. You should come here only if you are really, really running out of tick or are into seedy stuff and you need a lair to scheme you evil, nasty deeds.

Located right in the Grote Markt, so it’s a pretty easy place to get to. Inside and the decor are pretty nice, as you might expect. Service was average. The house beers here are truly atrocious. Only four on tap and none of them were remotely drinkable.

this place annoys me, no pisses me off. Brussels is one of the great cities in the world of beer culture, great beer flows from the pores of Belgium - yet, in the nations capital, their capital, reknowned for beer - this place exists. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Mediocre beer, worse service and clueless people. Whoever manages, owns this place - should be hung out. It’s a travesty - a quality brewer, good management and some staff selection/training improvements - and it’d be a winner. But then again, it’s been like this for so long - they obvs, don’t read this. I hope you’ll find this handy - and go spend your 8euro in Moeder or elesewhere.

How to even begin rating this place? Maybe my low expectations? or maybe that I have sampled beers in bars on four continents and this place rates among the lowest of them all. For years I delayed going there, and today just proved me right. Visited a Saturday afternoon, about 5 customers. Ordered the sample tray for a nice 8 euro. Four abyssimal beers served by non-challant waiters; one who could barely speak French and spent more time smoking outside. Beers served without even acknowledging my presence or even having the courtesy to tell me which beer was which. Had to ask the other douche who mumbled something and told me to read the signs on the walls as it was explained there. Other waiter sat at end of the bar smoking which is against Belgian laws. I pointed that out to him and asked if he did not mind. Promptly told me the boss was on vacation and somehow he could care less about the laws. Finally told him, that in that respect I could as well pay 2 euros rather than 8 on which he told me he would go get his friends and show me who owned the place.Ended up leaving before it got out of hand as things had already escalated to the point of some customers leaving. This just ruined it for me, total no respect for service or clients, nice setting ruined by an staff. Food is overly priced and nothing that suggests that it is not even microwaved. Save yourself some time and money, and avoid this dump at all costs. This place could go out of business I would not even care. Only positive point was the rugby game between Fiji and Tonga that was playing on mute. By all means get rid of the tacky disco ball at the front door.
