Great location on the river in an old mill (I think). Quite large with a great patio in the summer, can get very noisy at night, make a reservation on most nights, and there is only a small section at night where kids can eat so definitely have to make a reservation. Prices have gotten more expensive over the last year+ that they have been open but the beer is much better on tap then in bottles (bottles are getting better though) and the horlage (clock) is a great way to sample everything they have on tap for an affordable price (you get 12 samples and can just pay for the 2-4 other taps they usually have going). All the times I have been there they only have their beer but its a wide selection and there is usually one or two I have not had before. Food used to be quite good but sometimes suffers when things are busy - still that is a matter of execution - overall good food at a reasonable price. Quite happy to spend a night there, even better an afternoon when its a little more quiet. Has quickly become one of, if not the, beer place to visit while in the National Capitol Region.

Nice location, fairly big inside. CLose to a stream soyou can have a little outdoor ambiance. Wait staff ranges from familiar with to helpful regarding the beer. Can be a little slower when the place is busy. Usually a good selection of BDT beer on tap and usually a guest tap. Food is pretty good but a bit pricey. Since I found the place I have yet to make a trip to Ottawa without visiting.

Sept. 13, 2011. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to BDT. I had a hard time conversing with the servers as my French is poor (aka non-existent). They were very friendly and tried to work with me. I ordered the sampler tray and they still managed to communicate what order they were in. The food was tasty but my order was a little drenched in sauce. The beer was fantastic - a great diversity in the selection of brews; however, it is notable that they serve only their own beers as far as I could tell. I would recommend it.

The place is HUGE and impressive, located in an historic building. I prefer smaller places as the main room feels like a huge cafeteria. The service was horrid in the first year but is getting better. Food is fine but a bit pricey. There is only a small section where you can drink without eating, the rest is licensed as a restaurant so you need to order food if you want to drink. Their brews are usually pretty good and excellent in some occasions, but the pint and guest beers are overpriced.

Second visit to this pub, very nice ambiance, quite cozy. The staff is friendly and the bar offers about a quater of the beers this brewery produces on tap. I hear the food was very nice but have never tried it. Prices are definately within the reasonable range, good value. Ilike.

good selection of home beers, interesting styles, mostly german and belgium. lounge-type that doesn’t fit at all with the beautiful and historical ’’chateau d’eau’’’s architectural outside. bad service at the tables with waiters that don’t know much about beers. some good invited beers from quebec craft breweries. food is ok but a little expensive. IF YOU’RE JUST GOING FOR THE BEERS, THAN YOU’RE FINE.

Établissement visité le vendredi 10 décembre vers 18h Ambiance: Vaste établissement avec décoration industrielle/historique. Musique en arrière fond. Nous étions à la section comptoir car il y avait une attente de 3 heures pour une table. Service: Lent mais correct. Par contre nous avons eu une erreur au sujet de notre entrée. Sélection: 12 bières maisons et 1 bière invitée. Longue carte de cocktail et alcool. Nourriture: "Cocktail de crevettes géantes" et "Tartare de bison façon BDT" en entrée. "Côtes levées BDT" et "Civet de wapiti de la ferme des Monts à la Kaput Mauer et aux airelles " comme repas principal. Brownies et crème brûlée en dessert. (162e rating d’établissement)

Nice place, nice location, good beer. I really enjoyed the Diable au Corps last time I went. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood. I believe they use to have guest beers but now they only serve their own, although they have a larger selection then before (usually 12 beers on tap that cover a wide variety, all of which are good)
