13 reviews for Lorry Restaurant
| Svesse (88), Hässelby, Sweden | | November 8, 2009 This is kind of a weird place. The restaurant has lots of character and history behind it, and it’s cluttered with all sorts of obviously important things, like a giant moosehead or a knight’s armour. The bar is at the back of the restaurant. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was excellent (but prices Norwegian, meaning high). Beer selection is fairly large, but not very interesting. Mainly beers from large brewers and nothing really rare. Worth a visit for the ambiance and the food (and you’ll get some decent beer as well, but maybe not a tick). | | RuneStumo (19), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway | | October 27, 2009 26.10.2009. The bar is situated in the back of the restaurant. They have a good selection and I found myself to beers that I have not tasted before. Service was good and the barkeeper was helpfull. | | gunnar (28), Sandnes, Norway | | October 13, 2009 A place where local heroes drink and dine.
If you fancy a place with history in the walls, well this is it, well over 100 years under the carpet. Beer selection is macros only, 8 on tap. Bottle selection from all over the world. Decent food selection as well. | | padgemw (11), , | | July 26, 2009 I worked on a project in northern norway and so was in country about a week per quarter for 2.5 years. First, drinking is VERY expensive, but for all that Lorry is no worse than others. The beer selection is amongst the best that I found in the country and if this is your first trip to Norway, stop in and its a great way to add local beers to your list. I always had a great time at Lorry and always found someone up for a chat. The odd thing is that they don’t serve food at the bar only at the tables. So I never ate there and cannot comment. | | Smaskifa (11), Oslo, Norway | | May 30, 2009 Had a visit a late saturday night, hardly any guests because of the eurovision song contest final. Asked the waitress for a belgian beer, and she recommended a blue chimay. Nice one. The sad thing was later in the evening when my girl friend was asked for ID when she headed for the restroom, and was told she couldn’t stay because it was 25 (I emphasize, hardly any guests at that time!). Then they told her off in a rude manner that she had to leave. So the service was horrible, they could at least had checked ID when we asked for a table. Regardless of the legend status of this place they won’t see me returning any time soon. Sorry Lorry. | | Kestral (19), Oslo, Norway | | March 27, 2009 Loads of beers, mostly boring ones. Service varies from good to bad, depending on your waiter seemlingly. Food is good, though. | khytre (6), Oslo, Norway does not count - explanation | | July 4, 2007 Used to be a nice place to drink, now it is more for the excellent food.
The service is terrible. | norbrewer (4), asker, Norway does not count - explanation | | April 30, 2006 nice place, but they dont have all beers on the menu. and the bartenders should learn more about beers | | stouby (49), Holbaek, Denmark | | December 30, 2005 Visited 040503. Well visited, with a large selection of beers, good atmosphere. The waiters know about their beers. Had nothing to eat, but the menucard was fine. | | yngwie (82), Kristiansand, Norway | | December 3, 2005 [ Updated May 11, 2008 ] Probably the largest selection of beers in Norway, about 130 different. Unfortunately the waiters isn’t too updated on their beer-menu. Mostly Norwegian lagers, but they also have some of the foreign beers available in Norway. A quite crowded place most of the evenings, especially before Christmas. If you visit Lorry, you should also visit Oslo Mikrobryggeri, its just a few small block further on up the street. |
