Magnum’s has some interesting selections, but I find the service to be lacking. Rarely has the staff even acknowledged my coming into the store, let alone asking if I need something in particular. Prices are higher than most other stores. It’s worth a look, but only to see if they have something no one else is carrying.

Interesting place. Smells like a cigar. Amazing scotch selection. And the beer selection is pretty good. I found some pretty interesting things that I haven’t found anywhere else in town. Not bad, but a bit pricey.

I go every once in a while....It is pretty expensive and the selection is always fairly dusty....Like others said, the product doesn’t move as fast so check the expiration...They do have an excellent selection of hard to find stuff.....However, I also get an odd ’vibe’ from the non beer staff when I visit... Maybe because I dressy bummy when I visit or maybe because I’m not spending enough...

Magnum’s has a nice selection of beers in virtually all categories that you would want. Cigars and wine aren’t bad either, and their new trendy cigar lounge is nice as well. After several visits I have found the service to be atrocious. For example, today I was there and suspected that my total was slightly off and so I politely requested the receipt. He corrected me by saying I already had it (the credit card receipt) and said that’s all he could give me, then followed it up with a nasty look. Be careful for old or heat damaged product at Magnum’s. Over 90% of their product is maintained at a warm room temperature (today it was very hot and the front door was open), and I’ve had several bad bottles from this place. If you stick to the refrigerated product you’re less likely to get a bad one, and shopping in summer months can be more risky here as well. If you’re in the area Magnum’s is worth the stop, but be careful what you buy and expect to be treated poorly.

Update 7/6/11 - no where near the beer selection they used to have. It’s down to one cooler since they added on to the bar. lowering my rating... Closest bottle shop to my house. As mentioned, they don’t move the product as fast as some, so you have to check expiration dates, especially on the mix and match 6ers. They do get a lot of the recent release stuff in stock in bombers, so I normally just focus on that. The store is very nice and they have a great bar off to the side. It’s a little pricey, but then again they’re not a chain so they don’t get a break on huge orders. Staff seems friendly enough.

Nice relaxing atmosphere. Great location (next to the grocery store I shop at)! The staff seems to know what they’re talking about. The selection is pretty good too. Doesn’t look like it gets a lot of traffic I wonder about the freshness of the product. I’m not a smoker, so I don’t much care for the smell of cigars that fill the room. Definitely worth checking out.

Located in a strip mall just South of the 101. Upscale feel. Pretty good beer selection. They have a lot of singles that you can make mixed sixes with. I picked up four bottles of Full Sail Top Sail Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter and a 750 ml bottle of Big Sky Strong Cherry Ale, but these were the only beers I was surprised to find. They had more pedestrian-ish stuff from Left Coast, Lost Abbey, Beer Valley, Ale Smith, Ommegang, and Rogue to name a few. Service was good. Certainly worth a visit. I’ll be back on my next Phoenix trip.

Amazing place. Very high-end. Very strong selection of micros, seasonals, and euros. The employees are extremely helpful and knowledgable. Prices are high, but worth it for some of the beers there. There are some So. Cal. beers I haven’t even seen in my hometown. A must-go if in Phoenix.
