Thereís eight handpumps on the bar, two for real cider & perry and six for ale - including one "LocAle", usually from Twickenham Brewery - although sometimes only six or seven are in use during the week. Look on the blackboard for the key for the free WiFi. 10 keg taps are arranged in two groups of five either side of the handpumps. As of January 2013, two of the keg taps have been allocated to British craft beers on key-keg. Initially these were Thornbridge Jaipur and Red Willow Smokeless. Three more carry Belgian keg beers - these were Fruli, Hoegaarden and Lindemanns Kriek. Thereís also 30+ English bottled craft beers plus usually some foreigners.
The pub remains very welcoming, the ales remain excellent and it is a good comfy local. The kitchen is open, with the landlady offering a shortish menu of excellent quality traditional English pub grub - check out the genuine Cumberland sausages in particular.

A slightly run down traditional English Pub in Brentford. 6 interesting ales on tap, 2 ciders, 18 interesting bottles & about 10 kegs. Slow service, relaxed atmosphere. A quite hard to get to place. Few trains to Brentford & Northfields underground a 25 minute walk. Only worth visiting if you are in the vicinity.

Great spot with a very local, laid-back feel. Pretty chill music airing on my visit. Eight casks with lots of bottles (20ish) and a few decent kegs (Boon, Kwak, etc.). Average prices. Folks just be chilliní real hard up in this piece, readiní ín talkiní ín whatnot. Well worth a visit.

This pub goes up and down in itís quality, at times it can be a bit scruffy then at others is OK. Good selection of beers though the quality is also a bit variable. However it is a pub thatís always worth a visit.

A decent pub in Brentford for real ale . The place was going through transition last I was there , with new owners. You will find around 5 cask ales from the UK , often from interesting Micros such as Marbale . A rotating stout or porter of some description is almost always residing there , as will be real cider or perry . Mainstream euro lager (budvar/urquell) & a range of keged Belgian ales too ....The bottle selection , while small has Trappist ales and Germanic wheatbiers. The ambience of the pub is rather muted and subdued even at weekends and I think it could do witha lick of paint and new carpets . On match days when Brentford FC play the pub is inevitably more atmospheric . This is an ovbious choice for good beer when in the neighbourhood .

Certainly back. Great news. Visited on Friday night (27th November) and enjoyed one Twickenham and one Butcome ale both on great form. Pleased to see the Thai kitchen has also reopened. There was no music whilst I was there, just relaxed conversation.
The pub is essentially the same as it was when it closed; apart from a few of the model boats, etc which fell prey to the odd souvenir hunter on the closing night! They have continued counting the beers served since 2006 on the board, and the ale policy remains as before, alongside 5 or so beers from Europe on draught.
Although rather harshly lit inside, this is made up for by the welcoming attitude of staff and punters. Great pub, and long may it prosper.
UPDATE: the rent dispute that caused it to close last year for a time has resurfaced. I am sorry to report that this pub may yet close very soon or change management. My rating is for a visit made on 27th November 2009 under original governorship.

A real local, very quiet on a weekday afternoon. They take pride in their ever changing range of beers, and the beer was fine, but the pub itself and the regulars are about as run down as physically possible. No gin palace, this!

Good selection of real ales and Belgain/germans on tap. The cask range is ever changing, iíve been here twice and both times the cask beers have been totally different. The also have Hoegaarden, Budvar, Affligem and Paulaner on tap, if you feel like something from mainland Europe, they do have swill like Fosters and Stella if youíre in the mood for that. There is also a good bottles selection of Belgian and german beer, with proper glassware. The service wasnít the best, but i dinít mind too much, because i got a few new beers on the board both times iíve been there.
