| BVery (227), Burnsville, Minnesota | | May 12, 2012 Great spot. 9 house taps on this day, and a fairly extensive food menu. 4 oz samplers of all beers for a reasonable price. | | BroSpud (14), , Massachusetts | | February 17, 2012 Arrived via ferry! Great location, good selection of brews. Typical food menu. | | Dogbrick (423), Columbus, Ohio | | July 12, 2011 (Visited 01/2011): Marin Brewing is located in Larkspur in the Larkspur Landing Shopping Center off Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Private lots are abundant all around the shopping center but the place is perpetually busy.
The interior is fairly spacious, with the bar area separated from the dining space. There is an area for groups as well. TVs behind the bar, and dartboards as well.
Marin’s beer selection is pretty good. They have around 10-12 of their beers on tap, and offer samples. The beers range in style from standard fare like a Blonde, IPA, Amber etc, plus some more unique offerings like Hoppy Holidaze, and unfiltered APA and a Barley Wine. All of the beers are decent, with a couple being pretty good.
Service on a weekday dinner at the bar was good. The bartender was efficient with service and knew their beers well.
Our food was good, no complaints there.
All in all this is a decent beer spot for the area. I doubt I would consider it a "must-visit" for a San Francisco visit but considering it was in walking distance from our hotel I was happy. | | Jjbigtime (14), California | | March 10, 2011 I always think of Marin as the little step brother of the much better Moylans just up the road a stretch in Novato.
Marina beers are solid if not amazing although that white knuckle is incredible and the Stinson beach peach is surprisingly delicious.
A good place but not a superstar. | | JaBier (68), Capital City, Ohio | | September 7, 2010 Stopped in for a sampler on 8/8/10. Only six beers on the sampler and not all that great. Service was mediocre at best. Didn’t try the food. Not one of the high points of the super awesome NorCal trip 2010. | | nickd717 (80), San Francisco, California | | July 24, 2010 Came here once after a baseball game in Marin. As a side note, I quit baseball after I realized it was getting in my way of ticking beers. Anyway, this was a case where it enabled me to tick beers. I was here early on a Saturday night for food and dinner. I had a sampler, including White Knuckle on tap which is always awesome. The beers here are good but not great on the whole. They have some crappy fruity wheats, pale ales and IPAs, and special Belgian style ales, DIPAs, and the like. Other than White Knuckle, Breakout Stout is also excellent, along with some of the special brews. The service is above average (could be more knowledgeable about the beer). The food is also more or less above average. Good for bar food, but not great. A nice place overall. Decent outside seating area and some good brews, if nothing exceptional. | | wavers1 (39), Notown, California | | July 31, 2009 great place, good food, good beer, but a lil disappointed by the number of brews available. a lil crowded at times, but has a nice patio area. a fun marin hangout for sure, don’t mniss it if you are in the area. | | IrishBoy (82), Bakersfield, California | | July 17, 2009 Nice place but very busy while on the RBSG Bus Tour. Wide variety of taps and bottles. I did not try the food. | | DaSilky1 (66), San Diego, California | | July 16, 2009 I was a bit wasted to fully enjoy my stay here, but what I did glimpse between blurs was quite nice. Big place, it seemed, with indoor and outside seating. Long bar which seemed to have some nice stuff on tap and bottles, but I just sipped others. In any event, want to come back for some reason and experience more. | | mrhoppy (87), Santa Clara, California | | July 3, 2009 Hip Beer joint with world class beer. Food is above average. |
