This place is a Morgantown classic. It is small, crowded, loud, and a good place to hang out. Terrible selection, with only the basics being served (Newcastle, Leinenkugel, Yuengling, etc.....). Each beer is served in a large 16 oz. fishbowl, which is pretty cool. Average service and food. Many a generation of WVU students have frequented this bar, and if in Morgantown you have to visit this place just to be able to say that you’ve been in the most historic bar in northern WV.

I was taken here by my friends dad, as it was where he got his drink on when he was in college. This place is definitely something. Stuff all over the walls. You could spend the whole night there just reading things. It was pretty crowded, but not really intimidating. Still a fun place. Selection is pretty bad. We all had a couple rounds of Newcastle in their classic fishbowl glasses. Pretty good size for the price. I didn’t try the food, although I hear its pretty okay. I marked n/a for that. This is probably a place that you’ll definitely want to see at least once, and maybe you’ll go back. I don’t really feel the need though. Not that its a bad place, just more of a landmark than a good place for brew.

see previous rating. Completely agree. WVU rocks, and so does this place. Selection is fairly bad (you might get Sam Adams, and Mad Dog 20/20 is quite common). Food is not great, but ambiance cannot be beat. Throw a quarter into a hige vase hanging over the bar, win a beer. Eat 60 Saltines 10 minutes, have your name on cardboard hung there forever. Great memories with friends there, and if you are in Mo-diggity, please visit.

The place is as old as dirt. Jesus probably frequented the place back in the day. Can’t beat the tacky artwork which consists of WVU sports nostalgia and lots of hand-written cards with all the eating/drinking records set there over the past fifty or so years. Nothing special beer wise, but everything is served in a Frosty Fishbowl... huge mugs that came with the place when the original bar owners started the place up all those years ago. Everyone who has ever gone to school at WVU (since the 1950’s or so) has enjoyed a Frosty Fishbowl of beer before going out on the town on a Friday or Saturday night. On homecoming weekend, you’ll be waiting in line to get in and be standing ass-to-elbow once you finally enter. A "must visit" when in Morgantown.
