| Capa (172), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | April 21, 2012 Stopped in here on a nice spring afternoon and took a seat on the porch. We had great service from our waitress even if she wasn’t all that knowledgeable about the beer. The food was top-notch. Not like most pub grub, this was a little classier and therefore a little pricier. The Meatloaf was very tasty. I had the "premium" beer sampler which only meant I got to try the two seasonal as well as the regular lineup. All were very well made. I ended up ordering a glass of the Vautour after my sampler as that is what brought me here in the first place. Great and easy saison. Out of the way for me otherwise I’d become a regular here. | | guzzler67 (38), Hanover, Maryland | | September 25, 2011 Good place to try when visiting the Brandywine Valley. Large bar and restaurant areas, tastefully decorated. Live music on weekends. Service was efficient but cold. Had a good meal from a pretty big menu. About 8 everyday and 6 seasonal beers on tap, and we ordered exclusively from the seasonal side. Would recommend but hope you get a friendlier bartender. | | TURDFERGUSON (117), Carrboro, North Carolina | | July 27, 2011 Visited during RBSG 2011. Not sure which location I went to but oh well. Had a few tasty beers. Just love the brewing climate up here in Philly. So far ahead of NC still. Good service considering our huge crowd overtaking the outdoor bar. | | Steeeve (34), Ambler, Pennsylvania | | April 12, 2011 Typical brewpub with a big seating area and a very large bar with tons of TVs. Service was pretty attentive. They were able to seat our group of 10 with just an hour’s notice, and our waiter didnt seem to mind doing 5 different checks for us. We were kind of a pain. Food was fantastic. I had the chicken cheese steak with gouda, and it was positively delicious. Pretty good selection of beers. I believe they had 6 regular brews and 3 seasonals. They were not the best, but pretty impressive for a small brewpub. The saison and pale ale were my favorites. 2 meals and 4 beers ran me about $43 before tip, so I have to say it was quite affordable. A nice place. I’d go back if I for some reason found myself in the area again. | | italianjohn (127), Penndel, Pennsylvania | | January 19, 2011 Wanted to find out if the Saison Vautour and its GABF gold medals was all its cracked up to be and it was! A very nice brewpub nice big bar and plenty of seating area with plenty of tv’s ... the food was excellent nice variety of soups, salads and sandwiches/entrees ... the staff was the problem the bartender we had did not know much about beer besides the names and was not friendly ... other than that i grabbed a growler of the saison for $13.99 with the growler included and really enjoyed the brewpub the food was a little overpriced but was good so I didn’t mind much ... definitely seek out this place and the Saison Vautour | | Goodgrief (27), Middletown, Delaware | | September 5, 2010 Been to the Glen Mills location twice now. The food is okay, if a bit pricey. The beer is average to slightly above. The Saison Vautour, which is listed as a normal house beer, is really excellent. The rest of the offerings were solid, but unspectacular. 6 house brews and two seasonals when I visited. The servicepeople don’t know much about the beer, but are friendly enough. Not a bad place, but not really worth going out of your way for. | | Nate (246), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | March 14, 2010 Had lunch here on a very rainy Saturday afternoon. Sat at the bar. Service was OK, not spectacular. The beers were solid, and the Sticky Fingers was delicious. Had a mushroom-bacon-bleu cheese pizza that was really good. Prices were fair, and I picked up a couple of 750s to go. They’re another place that annoyingly do not fill other brand growlers. The bartender did so, than got bawled out by his manager. They charged me for a growler even though he filled one I brought - so he gave me an empty growler to take. Would definitely go here again. | | GMCC2181 (42), Newark , Delaware | | March 15, 2009 Checked it out on a slow sunday... I have been there before just not recently. Lots of room to park. Two big open bars, plenty of seating elsewhere. The bartender knew the basics about beer but thats it. Very friendly. I didnt eat but the food looked okay... Nothing special was on tap. Overall just your average brewpub | | FanwickMike (33), | | September 26, 2008 beer tour 09/25/08 Ordered the beer sampler, which was very extensive, 9 selections in all, and honestly, I though all the beers were quite good. The Saison had the typical Belgian taste, but also incorporated some hoppiness as well. Even the light lager was very drinkable, and the black lab stout really stuck out. Food was good, although only my wife had something, a chili she thought was a little spicy for her taste (probably perfect for me). decent value, and worth a return trip. | | michael-pollack (100), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania | | August 15, 2008 Small selection, to me. I am not a fan of their standard beers, and usually only go to try new brews. Parking can be very hard as they do not have enough spaces. Smoking sucks. All of the food I have had has been tasty, well prepared, and presented hot. Service is average. As with many places I feel like they are always around when you don’t need anything, and MIA when you do. Nice TVs. |
