February 24, 2009 The owner John is being ultra responsive to the onslaught of "craft" beers. Recently added a healthy selection of brews from Stone, Avery, and most of the fair that has come to SC recently since Pop the Cap. A chalk board is in the works and a recent tasting hosted by John and some Beer reps gave us all a spark of hope that our little island may become a Beer town yet. |

May 25, 2008 Went for happy hour with discounts on pints, bottles, and pizza slices. The beer selection was fine for Hilton Head, but crappy compared to Asheville (just there a few days ago). Pizza is awesome! I’m going to miss this place when I go back north. Not much in the way of local beers - nothing from Georgia or North Carolina or even Palmetto beers. |

August 22, 2007 I’ve been to quite a few Mellow Mushrooms, and this was definitely par for the course. There is nothing unique about this location. It basically offered the expected for the chain: mostly macros were available, but some micros and regionals were thrown in. Nothing was available here that I couldn’t get at any finer beer stop in GA or SC. |

June 14, 2007 Place Rating #102. Nice little pizza place in a stip mall. There on a thursday night for some beer and the place was not that busy. Mostly consisted of families. Beer selection included about 25 taps and a cooler of bottles. Mostly macros. Taps had about 5 dedicated to regional beer which is better than most places in the area. Pizza looked good, but did not have any. Was hand tossed style. If in the mood for pizza may be worth a shot. You may have good luck looking for some regional beer you have not had before. |

April 29, 2007 April 2007. Although the mushroom is ostensibly a beer bar, this particular location didn’t live quite up to the billing. Of the 20+ taps, the vast majority were the usual suspects ... Bud, Miller, etc. There was only one local/regional draft, plus a small handful in bottles. That said, I didn’t find anything better on the island and pizza is exceptionally yummy. |
