Visited January 4, 2015.
Finally got in to visit these guys. Itís right across the street from Smog City and a half mile north of Dudesí Brewing (not to mention close to Red Car and Phantom Carriage) so itís a perfect place to stop on a pub crawl. Itís a very small tasting room attached to a decent sized brewery. They have a handful of seats at the bar and there are self serve pretzels and peanuts in the brewery. They also have bottles, glasses, and growlers available.
Of the dozen taps or so my favorite was St Simcoe. They also had several vintages of the Magnificat and a coffee version of the Della Vita. Everything these guys make is somehow strange, not necessarily in a bad way, just odd. The beers have black pepper, hibiscus, elderflower, rose hips, chamomile, etc. It certainly gives everything a bit of character. I could see stopping in every once in a while to try whateverís new and interesting. Nice people too. Prices are high though.

Beautiful little brewery with a bright staff. What defined the beers as a whole for me was the added subtle ingredients that did not stand out too much, but complimented the beer.

Comments: Monkish, like the Bruery, has positioned itself as a non-IPA brewery in Southern California that produces higher priced 750mL bottles only, no six packs. Beers on tap were almost all avant garde and Belgian in style with some flops and some big hits. This is one of the only breweries in California that has figured out how to make a saison, so that is encouraging. Their tasting room is homely and nicely decorated. You can also sit inside the brewhouse on top of malt bags. Generous sample pours for the price in large tasting glasses that let you actually smell the beer properly! Lots of specialty beers that arenít bottled. Highly recommended, a nice surprise.

Visited this place quickly on the first leg of my SoCal brewery tour. Theyíre right around the corner from Smog City which is nice. They have a small, but nicely decorated tasting room to the side of the brewery with bottles to go, and of course, pints and samples of all the beers on tap. The beers were all pretty nice. Iím not the biggest fan of Belgian yeast, but these guys treat it well. There wasnít a stinker in the bunch and some were done with interesting adjuncts and/or hops so it was cool to try some traditional Belgian styles with a bit of a West Coast twist. I enjoyed my time here, as the service was nice and pleasant. Worth a stop if youíre in the area.

Small tasting area right by the entrance with more space in the back/brewing area. Helpful staff with adequate amounts of servers to keep the beers flowing. They had 10 beers on tap, 7 of which were new to me (which was sort of impressive).

Another nice local brewery located in a mixed industrial/residential area with quality brews. There is a Belgian spect to the beers, though with an American touch. The brewer and bar tender were great conversationalists while I sampled their wares.

Iíve been here twice and Iíve enjoyed both visits. Service was friendly and personable. It is evident that the owners and workers care about their product and want you to enjoy your experience at their brewery. You can drink your beer either in the taproom which provides an upscale feel, or in the adjacent brewery warehouse which provides more of a garage like drinking experience. I personally like drinking in the warehouse area. All beers are Belgian inspired ales.Tasters, tasting flights and twelve ounce pours are available. Peanuts and pretzels are free, while the spiced pistachios, which are very good sell for $2. Brewery has a website and Facebook page which provide up to date information about the brewery.
Prices for tasting flights and 12 ounce pours decreased.

A pretty cool new place in Torrance. Plenty of parking in the industrial lot. Small yet elegant tasting room with a few taps (more to come). Nice 15 barrel system. The place is a real family run place (only the owner/brewer Henry and his wife). They only had their first two beers on when I went there and both were very solid for first attempts. Iíll definitely be back to visit.
