suthobsk (2), , Austria does not count - explanation | | May 24, 2012 Went to this place on our last day in Florence. I wish we had have gone there sooner. Happy hour prices are awesome. 3.50 for an impereal pint. All 3 beers i tried were really good APA, Pillsner and the seasonal. Definatley worth the trip. A few blocks away from the central market. | | stoutpark (13), , Italy | | May 22, 2012 Located in the earth of the city of florence, Mostodolce right now is one of the few places exclusively dedicated to craft beer. This brewpub offer on tap only the production of the brewery located in Prato (a city really close to Florence), in particular the Pilsner is one of their best product. | | KyotoLefty (286), Kyoto, Japan | | March 15, 2012 Somewhat loud and crowded place, lots of American exchange students. A nice place for a beer in Florence, though. Really unreal happy hour prices: 3.5 Euros for an imperial pint until 19:30. Beers were solid and better than expected. Pizzas are very good and well-priced. Service is a bit slow and uncoordinated. Definitely worth a stop, though. | | ivangoli (18), Milano, Italy | | March 7, 2012 Friendly staff and good beers, ten minutes on foot from S. Maria Novella Train Station. Food is very good and don’t miss happy hour at 3.50 €. | janeriks (2), KVALØYSLETTA, Norway does not count - explanation | | December 10, 2011 Near the large market, in a narrow street. Typical cheap but good Italian food, not classy but not quite McDonald’s either. Lot of Italians, good sign. A nice list of own beers (no others) but not all are available. Some beers not listed, too. Interesting place, well worth a visit for the beers, but not the cuisine which is good for the price, but not classy. Beers are cheap at EUR 5 for 0.5 litre. | | fugitive (133), Athens, Greece | | October 18, 2011 A great place in Florence to drink some decent beers. They brew 9-10 beers but you find no more than 4 the others available at different times. Fridays and Saturdays is crowded. Good food and great value. Happy hour from 11.00 to 19.30 (500ml for 3.5 euros). | | luttonm (47), Belgrade, Serbia | | September 19, 2011 Nice open to the street space on Via Nazionale not far from the train station, but still far enough up into a decent neighborhood. Average decor, nice enough. Beers poured promptly and tidy, they take some pride, but they totally forgot our food order and we ended up leaving before they figured it out (despite a second request).
Only three of their beers available, seems one (Christian) kicked recently. Menu shows 7-odd varieties available at different times year round.
The three we tried were good, some excellent. Menu was complete and inexpensive.
When we walked by on a Sunday evening it was packed, but happy hour (.5l beer for 3.5eu) on Monday evening (1530-1930) was pretty quiet.
Well worth a visit in Florence, I did not find anything else like it during my tour, but there are some rough edges. | | Glouglouburp (259), Montreal, Quebec | | July 11, 2010 First I disagree with ratebeer current classification of this place as a bar. This is a brewpub. I will ask to change it for a brewpub but I’m not sure it will go though. They brew their own beer, they don’t have guess beers, only their own beers, no bottles, the brewer/owner works there and is very nice, they don’t bottle their beer, this is a brewpub. But the beer is not brewed at this address because it makes more sense to brew their beer just outside Florence. By my definition, this is a brewpub. Many brewpubs on ratebeer do not brew the beer at the exact address as the brewpub. Now on to the review... Cool neighbourhood pub with old beaten up furniture and decoration. Medium size, sits about 70. At first I was excited when I saw the beer menu with 9 beer on it. They have an Italian and English menus and each beer is described with a few paragraphs! However the beer menu is the complete list of beer they brew. The actual beer available are written on a blackboard and it is a sub-list of the beer menu. They had 4 beer when I was there but I saw 6 or 7 tap handles. So I guess you can expect somewhere between 4 and 7 homebrews. I had two pints. One (the Saison) was very good and the other (APA) was totally not to the style but was a good beer nonetheless. I was offered to sample anything I wanted before buying. Very friendly staff. Food is mostly typical Italian fare with some American items (burgers and such). You can eat a full meal for less than 10 Euros. Something about this place feels so right, this was a very nice beer experience for me. This is the little bright star in this beer desert that is Florence. | | nate2g (320), Marlborough, New Zealand | | March 29, 2010 A brewpub nearby the stazione on via Nazionale. As I walked in I was greeted with a friendly ciao but it was pretty much downhill from there. After waiting patiently for some time to have my order taken, my request was easy enough - pizza and beer, it took forever to receive and the beer never came! It wasnt even busy at the time. Having said that I did visit later on that night and sat at the bar to try the beers and service was way more prompt. As for the beers they are OK and not a bad place to drink as Florence is not exactly spoilt for beer choice. | | OldChuffy (18), | | March 26, 2010 I’m very glad we stopped here on our recent trip to Florence. We were able to meet the brewmaster, Francesca, who takes a lot of justifiable pride in her work. We sampled and enjoyed all of the excellent beers on tap, especially the honey ale, Martellina. This brewpub is an outstanding addition to the growing craft beer scene in Italy. |
