Seriously this pizza is amazing I would recommend to anyone visiting Detroit go here. I thought beer was nice enough and staff friendly. I parked in wrong spot a tow truck was outside in 5 minutes. No joke neighbors are nazis.

I’ve been here three times -- and not primarily for the beer. MCBW makes some decent brews, but the pizza is what’s worth coming for. Specifically, the Sopla Fuego. Truthfully, that is the best pizza I think I have ever tasted. The place itself is pretty small, but it has a nice feel to it. The service is decent, but somewhat lackluster (especially when busy). It seems like a lot of the people here are rating MCBW for their BEER rather than the place as a whole. Like I said, it’s not the best place to go for beer, but it’s still an awesome place to hang out in Detroit.

Motor City is wedged into a city block with limited parking (and, I’m not kidding, a parking security person from a nearby building who will relocate you if you park in the wrong place). There were about 10 beers available, including four or five seasonals. Pints were $4. Waiter knew his beer and offered good insights. Food was limited to appetizers, salads and pizzas, and all we ordered was quite tasty and a nice complement to the beers.

Great little (and I do mean LITTLE) local place, hole in the wall kind of thing. 8 of their own beers on tap plus some cider - first beer I am having now isn’t bad at all. Looks like great brick oven pizza - waiting on mine now. If I lived around here, this definitely seems like a place I would come to often.

Good vibes and pizza here for a reasonable price. Brews are fresh though nothing special. Just a nice place for a few slice and local beer. What’s not to like!

I love the inside, and the fact the parking lot is gated makes your car feel safer. The beer is pretty mediocre in my opinion, but the pizza is awesome! Friendly staff and a good flow of people. Worth a stop because you are right across the street from another brewery as well. Also close to the cool little shop "City Bird"

comfortable place - I ate on the roof. Extremely friendly waiter. Food mostly pizza, but the pizza was really good. I’ll be back if I come back to Detroit.

Nice small place tucked away. Incredibly good food, good service, and solid beers.

January 2010. I had such high hopes for this place. It came close. The brewpub is in a groovy little spot in the city and has a cool vibe. The service was friendly enough, and the atmosphere a near love-in. They had about 6 house beers to offer, all of which were at least average. The place was making a great (or at least decent) impression on me, until the pizza came out. For a place that relies on it’s minimal menu, the pizza we had was flat out boring. I wanted to go back into the kitchen and give it a little ’pow’! But I’d go back again ... (Brewery #492)
