This is a gem in downtown Northampton. On the outside, it looks like a modernist interpretation of a ski lodge. The bar area is casual, with short leather chairs sprawled across the room. The dining room is high ceilinged with picture windows bringing in sunlight. The service is very good, the bar food isn’t bad and the beers are quite good.

Visited in April 2010. Big place on several levels. Busy and buzzing. Still managed to retain a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Reading previous reviews I wasn’t expecting too much excitement in the beer department but they seem to have stepped up their game. No crappy golden stuff at all and plenty of quality across the range of 10 of their brews I tried. Decent food. Much better than I was expecting and I’d certainly visit again.

Two level brew-pub with 15 or so taps. They usually have 10 dedicated to their own offerings and 3-5 for guest beers. Their black IPA was very good, but the others were nothing worth going out of the way for. Cozy space with good servers that don’t know much of anything about their own beer. I asked what style a beer on the board was and they looked at me like i was crazy and said "its dark."

I really love the building and how there have been so many different additions that you can go here 5 times and feel like youve been to 5 different brew pubs. Place is PACKED on Saturday evenings so be ready for slow service. Food is really great with a decently priced menu. Beer is average at best. Had a sampler and another beer and they were all mediocre. Ive gone in the winter and had better luck with the beers but i dont remember them that well. Overall a cool spot.

Went there twice while in town for a conference. The food was okay on both occasions, but the service was always great. I sat in the outside upstairs bar area one night and the inside bar the next night. A couple of flat screens to watch the game in the inside bar area. Some good local beer; I recommend the sampler.

I’ve had several great meals here. The service was good to excellent on my visits. Overall, this was an average brewpub experience, but nothing was wrong per say, so I wouldn’t mind going back anytime. However, I need to checkout other places in this Western MA town.

Cool horseshoe bar, nice comfy sofa armchairs in the lounge sort of area. We stayed downstairs at the bar so didn’t check out the upstairs or the outside seating, though from the street the outside area looks pretty cool. Service started out rather spotty as out of the 14 seats at the bar, only seven were taken (two by us), and the bartender still passed us up 5 or more times while serving the guy directly next to us additional beers. Took about ten minutes to finally get our order in. Food came out quickly enough once the order went in though, but the disappearing bartender proceeded to vanish again while a new group came in and began speculating on her location for a while longer. My wife got the pulled pork which was decent, with some fries that tasted like they were fried a while ago and had been sitting, or were oven baked instead. Not so good. The side salad I ordered with my pizza never came until I finally got her attention again. My pizza was decent, but I’ve had much better at other brewpubs. Wasn’t a waste of time, but doesn’t seem like someplace that we’ll be in a hurry to visit again.

This place is sprawling with lots and lots of space. I didn’t eat any food, but enjoyed a pint on the roof, which was a good place to be on a warm night. The waitstaff at the outdoor bar was attentive and quick, but not particularly knowledgeable. Prices seemed a little high for a pint. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit this place, but if in town, it’s worth a stop.

Great beer! The BEST chili I have ever found in a restaurant.
