My favorite hombrew store ever. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and their kits are solid. I’m a big fan of the pro series.

I have been brewing with their mail order stuff for years. The entire online catalog(good website by the way) is onsite as far as I could tell, and the service was excellent. I was looking for an outdated recipe of theirs and the staff was able to find it right away in their computer system. The prices are cheap and if you’re in town it’s worth it to stop by.

Ambiance is based soley on their website...very easy to search and find what you’re looking for. The forum is invaluable for rookie homebrewers like myself. The products I’ve ordered have always been sent quickly and with all items included. As I have a local homebrew store, I probably won’t use Northern Brewer for small things but I prefer their extract kits to those I can get locally.

These guys were great when I went to purchase my first kit. I had questions that were answered completely by the staff. Very friendly and enthusiastic about helping people understand the different aspects of brewing. Will return here as soon as I need more brewing materials!

Review based on mail order only: For ambiance I put the ease of use of the website and the accuracy of information. The service is good and orders shipped within 24 hours.

What I like is freshness of ingredients (they do their own malt liquid extracts), standard shipping fees and labeling of grain bags. Good kits selection and they are fresh as well.

What I do not like, some items are out of stock for a long time, lack of ordering speciality grains by the ounce, and the cost of some items.

Overall, I will continue to use them as a source for liquid extracts, liquid yeast and large orders of grains and supplies due to the flat rate shipping. One of main two on line sources for homebrew.

I have ordered from these guys on many occasions. They usually ship within 24 hours and have a great selection. Their prices are a little higher than Morebeer, but still affordable. My one complaint is that they tend to run out of items for long periods of time. Otherwise, a top notch online vendor of homebrewing supplies.

Well I’ve ordered twice from this place now and twice they’ve filled my order and shipped the same day!! They guarantee their yeast live and so far everytime i’ve ordered it it has been. They include the yeast in their kits unlike some other shops and the customer service is second to none!! I’ll be putting lots of orders into this place for years to come!!

Very easy to put together an order to the exact quantity of what you want. Large selection of grains, yeasts and hops along with good pricing on many equipment widgets as well. I go to my LHBS first, and anything that I can’t get from there I get from these guys. Super fast shipping with UPS tracking information, and never have I not had an order fulfilled to my upmost satisfaction.
