54 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 10/20 marv3mania (2) Lansing, Michigan | February 11, 2013 There was ice in my beer, and they didn’t bring me a plate for my garlic bread. Not impressed. | 52 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 Silphium (59) East Lansing, Michigan | September 18, 2011 Typical chain ambiance and food quality, although some of the pizzas are pretty tasty for the area. The beer selection is initially compelling for a chain restaurant, but the experience is significantly flawed by the ice-cold beers served in frosted mugs (seriously?) and the ever-present solvent taste common to everything on tap here, which ruins the tasting experience and makes every beer taste like the last one. Go for the pizza, and do not sample anything new and expect an integrous tasting experience. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 20/20 riseagainstme (12) Michigan | December 3, 2010 Old Chicago has great people that work there. They will remember you after only two visits. The taps are constantly switching out for different ones, with very few staying the same for more than a few weeks. There are also two decently sized coolers filled with bottles. The mini-tours they do are a great way for people just getting into different beer to be forced to try something new. | 34 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 7/20 ford9719 (18) Vilseck, Germany | November 21, 2007 It is an ok place to it is nice but the wait satff is not that great. | 58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 11/20 f351c4v (77) Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania | November 12, 2007 Nice, new building in a commercial district. Many beers on tap, but nothing rare, and only one offering from Founders, which is only 1 hour away. Pizza was great, chicago style is lacking the sliced tomatoes, though. Worth a visit. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 Tmoney99 (366) Cincinnati, Ohio | February 27, 2007 Easy to find location directly off Grand River and Okemos Road. Large lot. Building is clean and orderly and is another corporate remodel. Bar on left and seating for food on right. Bar has taps in the middle with coolers on both sides with bottles. Staff is freindly with good beer knowledge. Menu is corporate apps and dinner selections. I had the Fish & Chips, large portions, very good. Good location, beer selection and food. Well worth the stop. | 92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 19/20 BigNasty (3) South Lyon, Michigan | August 15, 2005 My new "home" OC, having fallen in love with the chain while living in Colorado, I was overjoyed to see one finally open in Michigan. If you’ve been to an OC before, you know what to expect--the food is identical and the selection of beers is the same as any other OC: outstanding! The one thing I noticed about this OC is that instead of being "purpose-built," it appears to have been some other restaurant in the recent past. The result: it feels MUCH larger than any other OC I’ve been in. Now hoping they’ll consider an Ann Arbor location next, as Okemos is about an hour away from me. |
