This is a smoky place just off the main tourist thoroughfare in Reykjavik. The beer selection is diverse and large (for Iceland) and the service quite good (though it was very slow in mid-afternoon). Not a bad stop for beer but the smoke may impact your enjoyment.

Just off the main drag, right in the center. Looks scruffy from the outside. Inside has a large central bar with stool all around, tables off to the side, and a partially enclosed (in winter) patio where smokers can hang and chill (literally). Mixture of craft and macros taps, handful of bottles of both. Extremely friendly staff. The bird sounds are coming from the clock, you’re not going crazy. Nice place.

Dive-y beer bar in central Reykjavik with a good cross section of Icelandic beer, including a few things not seen elsewhere in town.

Nice place. Atmosphere is nice, gets crowded on weekends. Smoking area just beside the main hall so the smoke comes inside, Beer selection ok, with one beer Brio specially brewed for the pub.
