RateBeer Brew Tour Guide's Comments
A pleasant drive north from Boulder on 36 (follow the signs towards Rocky Mountain National Park, Lyons is on the way) will bring you to Oskar Blues in 20-30 mins. It’s a very laid-back, relaxing, small-town place with good food, good beer, and kind people. The upstairs portion is the restaurant and a bar, while the downstairs has a bar, band stage, and a cool vintage video arcade (Asteroids, Galaga, etc., 25 cents per game!).

skoisirius | Visited sometime last fall. Groovy little spot with really off the wall items covering its walls. Server was chiill. Was expecting a few more selections on tap, but there was only the regs which we get up in Washington, so that was a bit dissappointing. Got a pint of Ten Fidy, which rocked. My sandwich was great too! Definitely worth a stop, but if you’re doing some serious hunting, you may way to call and see if they’ve got anything special on tap first.

shp555 | The place is tiny a little out of the way but worth the visit. Went there for lunch and the food was pretty good. They have a nice cute staff. This place is very cool and down to earth. They even gave me and my friend a tour of the brewery and we got to shoot the shit with the head brewer.

BlackForestCO | Pretty cool little place tucked right into the foot of the mountains about 20 minutes NW of Boulder. Nice southern-style decor that really makes you feel at home. People are friendly and kind there, also. Usually a pretty nice selection of beers on tap and for sale. Haven’t had the chance to eat there or see any of the live music, but they are constantly inviting artists. Definitely a place I would visit if I was around the area, it is much different from any other pub/brewery I have been too.

Crosling | Outstanding place to eat & drink. Solid house beers, which may or may not include a specialty draught-only beer or two. Pretty good food and great service. The music nights can be truly outstanding. My favorite part is the arcade, where I can go crazy and play Ms. Pac Man all night.

Dansting | Visited on a Friday for lunch. Located in a tiny strip mall, which normally would not be a good thing. But they had a nice deck that was overlooking the mountains, and it was very pretty. The inside seemed like an old blues bar, but not dirty. Our service was very good, as the waitress was friendly and witty. They only had five beers to sample, but all were very good. I had a hamburger, and it was also very good. They didn’t have a ton of merchandise, which may have been my only complaint. All in all, well worth a trip to see some of the most gorgeous scenery both driving into town and on the deck, as well as some outstanding beer and great food.

egajdzis | A very small place, conveniently located on Rte 36 from Boulder to Estes. Fresh Gordon, Leroy, and 10Fidy. Real nice country-fried steak, and French onion soup. Staff was very friendly, and showed me around the brewery. Really nice place, would love to stop back again.

CharlesDarwin | Definitely not what I had expected. For a brewer who makes renowned canned products, a top 50 Imperial Stout (is that hard these days?) and has had lots of good buzz, I was surprised to see a rather unassuming music joint. Down in the basement, amongst pool, a stage and lots of locals drinking Coors, were four pours, including good old Ten FIDY. Bartender was earnestly friendly, but not really aware of how well received the products are or knowing that much about them. Growler is the best deal. Cheaper than buying by the pint.

chef201atc | Neat little out of the way brew pub. We were ther early (11:00 AM) on a Friday, so it wasn’t crowded. Cozy environment, great beers, good sevice, food looked good (we didn’t eat). The cool stone bar stuck out as a neat feature to me.

more selections on tap including tenfidy. There selection had grown from 5 to 7 and tenfidy was worth the trip for me. I’d like to see a show here some time but it is out of the way.
