| MaltOMeal (24), Land of Sugar, Texas | | September 23, 2011 While on summer vacation with GF, we invited our hosts in Pagosa to try some brews at this place. We had just taken a six-mile hike in the mountains and NEEDED a drink. This place is set up like a biergarten with a large outdoor area with cheap plastic chairs and sawdust 7 wood chips on the ground. It was a warm day, but they had an IPA, which made the trip worthwhile. Turned our friends onto the IPA, which I’m happy for although they are in their sixties they were willing to try different brews. The brew was good and reasonably priced. If we get to come back during ski season, I’ll definitely be back. | | ilovedarkbeer (61), Abilene, Texas | | March 21, 2011 Stopped in here two nights in a row while skiing at Wolf Creek. Big outdoor seating area when you first walk up and the staff is pretty nice. Ordered up some 10 beer samplers and was seated within 20 minutes. Food was pretty tasty and the generous sampler combined with the high altitude will have you in good spirits in no time. A little bit pricy and the food portions are somewhat small (excluding the pizza) but I enjoyed myself and the beers were decent. | | beerstars (22), | | February 1, 2011 OK! So this pub has a really werid set up! The tasting room is small like 4 tables and a bar. But it has a large courtyard , really nice in the summer but not in the winter. Also, menu is limited and your food is prepared in trailer out inthe courtyard -very odd. We have NEVER had good service here-ever. The owner is too busy to even speak to customer. | | nearbeer (144), Knoxville, Tennessee | | October 28, 2010 [ Updated October 30, 2010 ] Great outdoor seating area with radiant heaters at tented tables, multiple fire pits and a couple of food service trailers. Indoors is nice little bar and restaurant area with a cozy-lodge look and feel. Good house beer selection with a variety of ales and a few lagers on 10 taps. Nice selection of food: sandwiches, burgers and house-made pizza, with some other steak and fish selections. Pizza was OK, not great. Service seemed good except for our waiter, who was friendly enough, but seemed to have been sampling the taps all day. Overall, this is the only game in town, has a great ambiance, and pretty good food and beer. A must if you are within 25 miles of the place. | IkesNephew (2), Henderson, Nevada does not count - explanation | | October 26, 2009 One of my favorite brewpubs! Not a huge place, but nestled into a small mountain community, it is filled with friendly people and great beers! They make all their own brews, from pale ales and wheats to porters and stouts, all top notch. They even brew their own root beer for the young ones. Food is also very good, menu goes well with the brews. There is also a large outdoor beer garden where you can sit out under an evergreen an enjoy yourself in the fresh mountain air. A+ place! |
