| emacgee (57), Carrboro, North Carolina | | July 7, 2011 Pretty nice selection. Lots too choose from and one or two things I could’t get elsewhere. Mostly their selection consists of things that one could get elsewhere but they have more of those things than most places have. I suppose thats the best way to put it. | rael (7), Cary, North Carolina does not count - explanation | | June 19, 2011 Probably the best selection of beer in Raleigh.
From the outside, this place looks like any other (7-eleven or other) convenience store. Inside they have an incredible beer selection -- better than the much larger beverage retailer, Total Wine -- plus you no wine in the way to slow you down. Only Sam’s Quick stop -- in Durham has a better selection. | | petey (14), Fayetteville, North Carolina | | January 1, 2010 As good a selection as you’ll get in Raleigh. | | JCB (120), Durham, North Carolina | | December 1, 2009 Stopped in on the way home from work today and was reminded that I’d never rated the joint. Sort off a ragged place, with a very few market amenities (Slim Jims, Dinty Moore, that kind of thing), a bunch of jug wine, girly mags, and a decent selection of micros. Standard Belgians, local goodies, and a nice array of Founders, Moylans, Stone, etc. No real reason to make a special trip as you would for Sam’s, but pretty good selection for Raleigh. | Collint (8), Sylva , North Carolina does not count - explanation | | November 9, 2009 Yea, this place is awesome! You walk in and when you go to the right it has tons of hard to finds and some rares sprinkled in. Definetly the best beer selection in Raleigh to my knowlege. The only thing that botherd me was the indian dude that was kinda a jerkoff a the counter. I havn’t been to sams yet but i will be goin soon. | dreadorbust (1), North Carolina does not count - explanation | | August 9, 2009 Been going here for years. Best selection in Raleigh. I usually can find something that will quinch my thirst. The frustrating thing is that stocking is inconsistent. I’ve found some good beers there (e.g. Racer 5) only to never see it again. Service is not what brings me back to this place. Lately they have been expanding their large bottle selection - Hopping Frog ,Moylan’s. New beers are usually placed on a palate as you walk in the door - found Avery Maharajha there for cheap! You do have to watch out for some skunky beers, however. (Sam’s in Durham has a better selection with better service) | | Elwood (83), Leesburg, Virginia | | August 6, 2009 This is the preferred place to buy for my buddy in Raleigh. I must say, it does look like a bit of a hole, but it did have a pretty good selection of beers. Pricing seemed to be about average. I am guessing that just about everyone can find something that interests them. Service was okay, but all I did was check out. | | TheBeerGod (98), Newport News, Virginia | | May 3, 2009 [ Updated October 17, 2009 ] Went here on 5-3-09 before leaving to go back home from our WBF weekend. Decent selection of beers, though I thought the prices seemed a tad bit high. The part that irked me was I brought the last bottle of Monschof Kellerbier to the counter to pay for it, and they refused to sell it to me because it had no price tag on it. Are you kidding me!?!?!? First time I’ve ever been refused a beer being sold to me from off a stores shelf. Nothing but a glorified 7-11 with a decent beer selection. Not worth the stop, really. Also, just a comment, but if the is the best place to go in Raleigh for buying bottles, then Raleigh needs help! | | zizzybalubba (68), Elizabeth City, North Carolina | | April 5, 2009 One of the best beer stores in North Carolina. Great selection of beers although most of it is already refrigerated. Prices are good. Worth a visit. | | DMRz (10), Durham, North Carolina | | October 25, 2008 This shop has an excellent selection of beers, including a few that I have not seen elsewhere in NC. It is rather disorganized and you can not always count on them to have the latest releases immediately, but they did offer to order what I was looking for. Worth a stop if you are in the area... |
