I absolutely love the ambiance in this place. It’s the place to come in groups, laugh out loud, quaff our beer in big mugs and eat like pigs. Ah yes, and smoke too... The 4 beers are excellent, especially the svetly and the tmavé which I challenge you to take only one glass: impossible. Food is good, filling and cheap. Service is quick and waiters understand english. Also, the unlocked WIFI makes this place work-friendly in the afternoon.

Nice brewpub in the center of city. Pleasant atmosphere, fast service, prices moderate. Excellent beer, trout and fried blue cheese.

Visited a late evening in mid May, 2009. Fairly crowded, but we did get a table for 3 fairly quick. Fast and nice service. Tried the gulash that had some rather hot chilli fruits to it, good idea! Tasted the four beers they had on, which were all nice. Reasonable prices.

An old-style brewpub a with a few house beers available. The services was ordinary and had to literally grab the waiter to order some beer, they weren’t that busy either, but other than that the beers were tasty especially the dunkel. Nice place to stop by for a brew.

Brewpub just in the center of town, very popular with locals, gets very crowded in the evenings. Even though it was established in the Nineties, it looks completely like an old fashioned cyech Hospoda. O.K. and a must when you are in Brno

A nice brewpub. We stayed in the hotel upstairs with was a big expensive considering all the work that was going on outside as well as inside. Renovated rooms were great, if only they could have waited with their banging till 8 o’clock. Food was quite good in the brewpub, the beer mediocre. Sadly they were just out of their Polotmavý.

The city’s original brewpub, in production since 1992, and a bit variable in quality in my experience but when it’s good, it’s very good (but the reverse also applies). Brews 3 standard beers, svĕtlé, tmavý, pšeničný (wheat) and sometimes a special, usually Krystal, that is an attempt at a Märzen-type brew. As usual for Brno, the food is magnificent and excellent value with the pork in beer sauce with knedlicky (dumplings) being one of the best meals I’ve had in the last few years! The accommodation is also good value and, being only 10 minutes from the station and 3 minutes from the trams, is an ideal place to stay and explore the city. Rooms are bookable online too – what more do you want? Apparently the brewplant has been revised in 2005 with the old ale fermenters being replaced by lagering conicals with a much more reliable taste to the beer.
