Nice local bar feel, with a great beer selection for a local bar. I enjoyed talking to the bartender (and I wish I was better with names). I’d definitely recommend visiting if in the area.

February 2011. Right next door to Filet and Vine in the revival Cloverdale neighborhood, Pine Bar is a cozy little joint with a great style and sense of humor. Although they apparently normally have 8 offerings on tap, the night I visited they only had 5 -- mostly well-chosen craft beer. The bottle selection was excellent, at least for Alabama, with a wide variety of imports and US micros. No food here, but they’ll let you bring stuff in. The service rocked, and I really enjoyed the setting.
