| Tim Webb (106), Cambridge, England | | September 28, 2011 As a rule I loathe recreations of Olde British Pubbes but I quite liked this one. Two genuine handpulled uncarbonated real ales, one pretty good, 300+ single malts and an imaginative selection of better world whiskies, a darts board and bar billiards table, various Celtic tunes as background, The Times and of course a red telephone kiosk. It could be a lot worse, especially in England. | | adnielsen (277), Fort Collins, Colorado | | October 13, 2010 I had horrible service here and the three beers were horrible. I asked an old guy working there if they had a beer sampler tray and he nastily said to me, "we figure that our customers are knowledgeable of beers to choose one off the menu." I nearly replied, "I know my f-in beers but I don’t know if you can make them." I’ve heard this place has the most scotches of any bar outside of Scotland. I can’t confirm this. By the way, the beers were expensive. | | notalush (256), Denver, Colorado | | June 11, 2010 Stopped in yesterday for a pint and a snack - nice location south of downtown, near the main branch of the library and the art museum - smallish, all-wood interior space makes for a very comfy british style pub - as has been noted, the vast array of scotch hanging from the ceiling is a sight to behold - about 10 beers available, two on cask, which is rare for this part of the country for some reason - all session ales of very styles, representing mostly british and german ones, though - the cask ale was nice, and fairly authentic - the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable - I won’t comment on the food, as I only had the chips - a decent place. | | BrianHagmeier (13), Coralville, Iowa | | April 12, 2010 Sorry Scott, I forgot to rate your place when I got home!
One of the high points of me and my brothers trip to the GABF 2009 was the time we spent at Pints Pub. What a great owner and staff. I LOVED the cask ales and learned a hell of a lot about Single Malts. Thanks for the hospitality and can’t wait to see you all again! | one16thamish (1), Colorado does not count - explanation | | October 10, 2009 i love the unique character of this restaurant and the variety of ales. try finding multiple nitro ales anywhere else! if you find a place with more than 2 nitro ales let me know. | | KAggie97 (213), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas | | October 5, 2009 Tucked away in south (?) downtown Denver, Pints Pub is more of a scotch paradise than a beer destination. The scotch selection will blow your mind; the beer selection is not as impressive but they do serve their own beer (which isn’t all that good). Service was great. Not a bad place. | | 3fourths (962), Boulder, Colorado | | September 8, 2009 Asked to sit on the patio, two other groups were there, didn’t see a waitress for 8 minutes. Nice way to keep your reputation for shitty service, guys. When I did get a waitress she was curt and avoided eye contact. Cask ale was okay but nothing special. Cheeseburger came on a stale bun and the meat was flavorless (the slice of ham on top I could taste, the patty I could not). Probably won’t go back unless I feel like drinking whisky with friends. | | Ratman197 (122), Arvada, Colorado | | December 2, 2007 Cool old house converted over to a very British style pub. The bservice was quick anmd the bartender was very friendly and informitive. The beer selection was great with 10 different house beers. The food is very tasty British pub fare all reasonably priced. Definitly worth checki ng out! | GregMB (2), does not count - explanation | | October 26, 2007 Great place to go drink pints all day. This is one of my favorite spots in Denver, today the gave me a sampler of every beer including cask beer on the house. Tons of scotch available (i quit hard liquor), beer was good as well. Great food, great people, great place. | | Braudog (611), Hampton, Virginia | | October 11, 2007 Oct 07 - Went the day before GABF around 4 pm and was astounded to find this place virtually empty, sav another GABF traveler and one or two other customers. More for me. Had two of their six house beers, both pretty good in the purist English style (they also offered a big list of guest brews). The service was tops and very friendly, and they even rolled out some really good homemade crisps to munch on. As a brewpub alone, this would rate very well. But this place’s Scotch selection is unbelievable. So if you’re a lover of the single malts of the distilled variety, this is a MUST visit. |
