I used to really like this place, but my last experience has left a bad taste in my mouth literally and figuratively. I understand that a special, limited release keg may need to be unadvertised for regulars to have. I have eaten there at least 20 times and my beer club list says I have had more than 40 beers, even though I have been horrible about writing them down. I went in there this week and was told that they had not tapped their keg of Hopslam, which I have learned was a lie. This is upsetting for several reasons. One, I was a regular that they want to get this. Two, I don’t care if it is a special keg, if it was my first time in there and I knew that the unlabled keg was hopslam, they should have poured it or been upfront about it. Three, what kind of company has their employees lie to customers? lesson learned. I will not go in again.

Nice, small beer spot in Charlotte. Large tap selection is above average, but has a few too many sub-par beers to rank it as outstanding. Bottle selection is decent as well. Salads and curry egg rolls are very good, while the pizza is just average. Service is good to oustanding--best when Erica is behind the bar because she actually knows a good deal about the beer they sell. I would recommend giving it a try.

Good place for beer in South Charlotte (Cotswold area). A lot to choose from. Could use some really special selections more often.

Good stuff...beer menu never corresponds to what’s on tap. Nice selection, though. Hit or miss. Not sure why they make some of the selections they do, but there is a good variety. Everything on the menu but the pizza is good.

As a frequent visitor to Mellow Mushroom and Moondogs, I recently revisited this location as the new Pizza Peel. I was pleasantly suprised at the redesign inside the place (much more cozy now). Most of the original taps are all active, although there seemed to be many more "macro" beers on tap than before. Food was good and the staff was generally very friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s a nice place to go visit.

The Pizza Peel is the former location of Moondogs & before that, Mellow Mushroom. It is in the Cotswold area just off Randolph. They always have an excellent variety of beers on tap including several good IPA’s & Stouts which are my favorites. Their pizza is very good and the bruschetta appetizer is the best I have ever had.. The people are friendly, bar tenders knowledgaable & atmosphere good for relaxing.It’s a comfortable bar & at the same time a good place to bring the kids. We visit at least once every time we are in Charlotte.
