Benders Bar

This place is like Toronado’s brother, or at least a first cousin. Dark, sort of dingy, posters and shit all over the place, loud rock music, and a pretty decent beer selection. Service wasn’t bad, better than the ambiance lets on, anyway. And it doesn’t smell like urine, which is a plus.

Visited 2/10/2013 after the Triple Rock Sour Fest.

If I had a reason to be in this neighborhood more often this would probably replace Toronado for me. Not as packed, better service, also has Pliny on tap always, and I can play an entire Mercyful Fate album for $3. What’s not to like? I guess if you arent into the dank atmosphere or metal...

Very close to a number of other tickable locations: Rosemunde, Southern Pacific, Southpaw, and Mateveza. I’ll be stopping back in at some point.
