MMMMMM.... Had Kate the Great on Tap here today... Excellent atmosphere- lively and quite inviting. Bartenders are quite amiable and LaPanza lounge is a great place to hang out and quaff the brewery’s tastey brews. Company store also attached in case you want some merch...

Nice place, wooden and stylish. Wide variety of brews on tap, though I managed to miss all the really special ones. No Kate the Great for me. Grumble. The best brew was the American Mild that I got a bomber of from the gift shop. The food was interesting, but didn’t blow my mind. At least they gave it a go. Will return next time I’m driving by.

Nice brewpub in a very pleasant Maine town. Well worth the visit. The ambiance is local. Lots of wood: everything is wood. Big enough to relax but small enough to feel cozy. Friendly service. Excellent selection for a small brewpub: it’s nice to get ten beers in your first flight. It was $15 for the ten samplers when we were there, alternatively $1.75 for two of them. No guest taps as far as I know unless you count Smutty.

The place looks nice, it feels more like a restaurant that serves house beer than a brewpub, the atmosphere is pleasant and the food is good. The beer is pretty good, there’s always a nice selection of house beers and some Smuttynose offerings. Definitely worth a visit.

Fairly upscale joint. Nice atmosphere. Ten taps, 7 of which were their own and three from Smuttynose. You can get a sampler of all ten if you so choose. Some of their beers were fairly pedestrian, but the scotch ale was totally awesome and the wheat wine was very good as well. Upscale food menu with some interesting choices like pheasant, and fair prices for what you were getting. The grilled cajun salmon sandwich was solid. The gift shop connected to the place had lots of fun merchandise as well as some stuff from Smuttynose. Bombers of some of the house beers can be purchased at the gift shop as well. Well worth the stop

I went for lunch on my own and sat at the bar. The bar was made of wood and there were some mini bars seperating the main bar and some of the tables. Funky art on the walls, which is not surprising if you are familiar with Portsmouth and it’s art community. Its location is in the heart of Portsmouth’s historic (and some say haunted) district. It is easy to get slowed down on the narrow streets but there’s a parking garage nearby. But I don’t mid hoofing it about a half a mile from the municipal parking lot where there is free parking. You can buy this cricket bat shaped slotted holder with up to ten 3-oz samplers of the brews on tap for $7.75. The brews change with the season so if you are looking for Kate, the Great...go next November. THe wait staff was well dressed, knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. The menu is typical for a brew pub with inexpensive sandwich choices and a good variety of appetizers. I didn’t order a main course. I had the Pulled Pork. There’s a gift shop in the building where you can pick up growlers or 22 ounce bottles of the brews of the season. Reasonably priced. I got out of there for under $15.00.

Nice stop for a couple of beers with the Budster. Got a shirt, glass, girl behind the counter (retail) was real nice and helpful. Beer selection was great plenty to try and the bartenders pleasant. Warm day and beer went down nice and cold. Didn’t eat here but the ambiance was cool, hopefully can check the place out again sometime.

Nice place for beer... Wasn’t too fond though of the service nor the food - but I really went for the beer and they had a huge selection, and I liked it.

Visited on a weekday for lunch. The server was actively hostile we apparently interrupted her day. The Brown ale had major diacetyl. The pale was ok, not aggressively hoppy. I ordered the Black Cat Stout and was told it was out. I mentioned that La Chat Noir was listed on the board. That’s different I was told. It was the best of the lot anyway-had a sting to it, which mellowed into fruit tones. Very smooth stout. The nachos were expensive and subpar.

Went on a weekend afternoon for lunch. Place was crowded but we got a table quickly. Had a nice amount of beers to choose from and the one’s I had were well done. Tried a couple different styles and I was not disappointed. Food was good and the menu seemed to have a good variety. Friendly service. They’ve got a small gift shop as you exit the restaurant if that’s what you’re into. I had fun.
