| PorterPounder (219), Tallahassee, Florida | | February 2, 2012 There are around 10 Publixs in Tallahassee - this by far has the widest selection. Any time a macro-micro puts out a new seasonal - you can count on them having it here.Bell’s. Abita, Terrapin, Stone, Rogue - nothing rare - but does in a pinch. Only drawback is they do not have a singles section like the Publix over by Killearn. Middle of town location - pretty convenient to almost anywhere in town, | | darn1207 (59), Tallahassee, Florida | | February 2, 2012 Drowland made me feel bad about not rating my grocery store. I too shop here and have gotten a fair amount of brew along the way. It’s the kind of selection we would’ve killed for a few years back, but is now the norm in Publixesus across the state: stone, victory, bells, sierra, et al - and macros. Has to be 50% of the beer i’ve picked up here over the years was two hearted. As long as they have that in stock they’re doing a good job. | | drowland (116), Tallahassee, Florida | | February 2, 2012 I figured it was about time to add this place as I shop here relatively frequently.
This is where I get all of my groceries usually, so I end up getting beer here from time to time, especially new seasonals from popular breweries. The beer aisle is well-lit and organized by country and then by brand.
There is basically no service to speak of. It’s a grocery store. The grocery store employees are very friendly and helpful, but don’t expect them to know where a beer is, let alone about beer.
The selection is average for the town but pretty decent. Warm and cold selection of all your macros as well as Sierra Nevada, Victory, Dale’s, some Belgians even, and more.
The prices are low to average and sometimes you can even find certain items on sale, which is awesome.
Overall, stop and peek in the aisle when you’re there for groceries, but don’t make it a destination. |
