Franchise brewing with a twist. Kevin makes some real good seasonals!

| BlackDonald (58), North Carolina | | August 3, 2008 Typical franchise corporate feel to it, I either sit at the bar, or try to find a seat on the patio near the river. I always like to sit as far away from the bartender as possible at this huge bar, because they always look irrirtated that I interrupted their conversation by making them walk all the way over to where I am. The house beers are absolutely horrid, but they do have a few spot on seasonals. How the bottle rocket won medals is beyond my comprehension. | | jake65 (38), Meridian, Idaho | | March 4, 2008 Bigger and louder than the Meridian location, still has the same food and brews available. I do love the border burger. Brews are ok, but not terribly exciting. | BrewSquid (9), Plattsburg, Missouri does not count | | December 9, 2006 We were visiting from out-of-town and decided to stop in and check out the brews. They had 8 beers on tap and we ordered a sampler. Altough the bar area was less than 1/3 full, service was painfully slow. All of the beers were good but both the Kolsch and the Hefeweisen were ’outstanding’. | | BuckeyeBoy (40), Boise, Idaho | | September 22, 2006 Stopped in ho have a few drinks and not so good food. Not to mention it cost 1 arm and 2 legs to eat at this place. But I wanted to watch my BeLoved Buckeyes beat up on Texas on the big screen. Go Bucks | | oldrtybastrd (24), Morlautern, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany | | March 15, 2006 Not to bad of a place. Pretty pricey on the food. Nice selection of beers usually. They have a sampler platter. | | BrewDad (188), Olympia, Washington | | February 12, 2006 Stopped during our tour of Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, Western Montana and Western Wyoming regions. As we visited all the National Parks and Breweries summer 2004. This was a huge place with a nice selection of brews. Busy was the word and we hardly got to sit we where were bumped into so many times. Food was good the beer was so so. Try it out on a non weekend night should be nice. The river and the patio are nice but the summer is hot and lots of bugs. | | Braudog (441), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates | | July 3, 2005 July 2000: Standard American yuppie brewpub, average beers and food. | | Sham (44), Seattle, Washington | | June 11, 2004 The beers are fine. The problem is that it’s usually crowded with idiot college kids. I don’t really like the place which can be seen since I’ve had two of their beers and it’s only two miles from my house. Going during early afternoon is fine. If I go, it’s usually on Tuesdays. They have pretty good daily specials though. | | BückDich (218), Boise, Idaho | | January 28, 2004 This is a franchise brewing location, so the beers are pretty standard and not exceptional. An occasional brewer's whim seasonal slips in that is a unique recipe and very tasty (Taildragger IPA, Bourbon Brown). There are 3 sections to this place; the restaurant, the bar in the restaurant, and Stonehouse next door. The restaurant is a standard family restaurant with a boring (but tasty) menu, basically stuff you can find at all these types of joints (i.e. Applebee’s, TGI Friday, etc). The bar in the restaurant is like a sports bar with lots of big screens, lots of seating, and huge ceilings. Stonehouse next door is a smoky pool hall that lots of college-aged people attend. Only brewpub where you can actually play pool, so this is a perk if you're into that kind of thing. The service in all places is average, it varies from server to server but they're all not very educated about their beers. "Dark, light, malty, hoppy" those are about the only adjectives that the bartenders know about their beers (aside from the Brewmaster of course). Overall this is just another franchise brewpub. A family restaurant setup to earn money, not create craft beers. Only visit if you're looking to play some pool and enjoy some craft beer or if they have the occasional winning seasonal. |
