The locals here may remember the Virginia Beach pseudo landmark Phil’s Grill. This is basically a new incarnation. Kinda has a local bar feel to it, somewhat raggedy. Nice selection of brews from all over the globe, including some locals (if Hampton and Richmond are local). Most brews on tap were very reasonably priced ($2.70 for pints of 60 Minute!) and the food is solid pub fare. This place is a tad dead in the offseason (which we locals like) but is jumping during the summer. Live music most weekends. I dig it.

Total hole in the wall with a great beer selection. Local bar atmosphere, TV’s with various sports showing hanging precariously from the ceiling - let’s face it, this place just isn’t much to look at. The waitress was kind enough to simply hand me the notes she had written for herself about what was on tap - at least 20 beers, and I couldn’t find fault with anything - a nice mix of solid micros, some imports, and quite a few seasonal and new releases. I was in an Oktoberfest mood, and I was able to try pours from the "local" Legend Brewing, the US Sam Adams, and the German traditional Paulaner. All at a little joint at Virginia Beach, which has had a reputation as a beer wasteland. Nice to see a lot of the locals also casually ordering pints of micros as well. The food - very nice nachos on a huge plate that was theoretically the half size. The fried shrimp were tasty, but a bit pricey for what I got. Having said that, this place definitely had reasonable pricing, especially on its drafts. I would consider this to be a must stop for beer at the beach.

Good addition to the beer scene in VB which is practicaly non existent. Was in VB for a week early August found the Beagle on 2 beer sites, and checked it out. Good selection of drafts, I had a few pints of Bells 2 Hearted, which was kind of flat, not sure why, but my session beer. I also scored a Stone 13th Anniv in the bottle!! Will def drop back next time I’m in VB.

Discovered this place last weekend after a golf outing. For this area, they have an incredible selection of beers. 20+ taps and 50+ bottles. There is something for everyone here. Drafts I have sampled included Thirsty Dog Old Leghumper porter, Dogfish Head Indie Brown, Dogfish Head 60 min IPA, Stone Arrogant Bastard, Victory Hop Devil and Stone Ruination IPA. Standard beach bar atmosphere. Live music almost every night. Food is very good at a reasonable price. The crabmeat stuffed portabello mushrooms are awesome! Try it out if you’re here at the Beach. I don’t believe there’s a bigger beer selection at a bar in Va. Beach.
