44 reviews for Rich O’s Publick House
tykechandler (7), Kentucky does not count - explanation | | January 29, 2010 tremendous selection, absolutely amazing food, a very cool ambiance make for one of the best pubs in, well, the world that i know of. and the beers they brew themselves aren’t too bad either! | | AguynamedTodd (17), Indiana | | September 2, 2009 This is one of the places you need to visit if you are in the Louisville area. Nice atmosphere, decent food, and a great selection of bottled and tap beers. Their beer selection is the best in the Louisville area. No one comes close to matching it. | | joeneugs (19), Livermore, California | | May 10, 2009 This place is awesome. It was hard to find, tucked up away in a suburban strip mall, but it was well worth the 40 minute bus ride from Louisville. Very homey interior thats decorated with typical Americana. They had a lounge area with cushy chairs and couches where a bunch of large men were smoking cigars. Normally this might have bothered me, but I was so excited when I saw their beer list, I didn’t care. It actually added to the cool atmosphere. Plenty of taps and a huge bottle list from which I took home a couple Three Floyds. I could spend all week here and be completely happy. The pizza I had was superb and the service was attentive, if not very friendly. I really was in beer heaven with the selection of stuff thats very hard to find on the West Coast. I will be returning here. | mtrain237 (1), Florida does not count - explanation | | March 29, 2009 Best brew house in the Mid West. Just need to move the smokers outside. | | Ryan82SM (30), Louisville, Kentucky | | February 21, 2009 Nice atmosphere, relaxed, friendly, unpretentious. Service a little slower than brewery, though our waiter was not shy about letting us sample some of his favorite beers without charge. His beer IQ was wonderful as well. Selection is still great, but, as I mentioned in the NABC review, you have to go to Sergio’s in Shelbyville for the best selection in the region. Food is solid and affordable, just like NABC. Quality beer costs money, and their prices are more than fair. A world class beer place right around the corner from my house, awesome. | | antzman (13), Clarksville, Indiana | | January 23, 2009 A gem of a place nestled in a small strip-mall like location. Home of New Albanian Brewing, Sportstime Pizza and Rich O’s. Rich O’s has around 35-40 taps, with several dedicated to the house beers, and the rest for "guest beers". They always have hard to find beers on tap as the management strives to find the best beers available in the market. It is split into two sections, one smoking, which includes the bar and the "Red Room", and a non-smoking section that has more traditional seating. The food is excellent. They have some of the best pizza in the area, as well as great stuffed mushrooms, calzones, and the fiery beer cheese as some of the better items on the menu. Service can be interesting. Have an open mind and you will enjoy yourself. Act like a jerk, and expect the same treatment in kind. | Homeroaster (2), does not count - explanation | | September 13, 2008 I’ve been to a lot of pubs, and this one rates up there with the best. The creative beer list of ’regulars’, and the indescribable ’guest’ list, along with beer events like Gravity Head, Saturnalia, Lupulin Hop Festival, and others makes this a unique place in the spectrum of pubs. | | 502Flavors (39), Louisville, Kentucky | | May 29, 2008 Sweet place with one of the most impressive beer bar beer lists I have ever seen (around 225 bottles and probably about 50 taps, probably more). Every style of beer is well represented. Prices are a bit steep on some bottles, but not wholly unreasonable for a bar (as opposed to a liquor store, for example). I haven’t had the food yet, but I hear great things. This place is definitely worth a stop if in the area, and the people know their beer for the most part. | | clingman71 (12), Centerville, Ohio | | April 20, 2008 Pretty solid draft list. I tried one New Albanian brew, which was OK, but had a wonderful glass of Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree IPA. While my girlfriend’s pizza was average, my calzone was very good. The service was solid and quick | troispistoles (2), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | April 12, 2008 It’s an ultimate beer snob adventure with pizza mixed in... one of my favorite retreats. |
