| deyholla (90), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | April 27, 2012 A nice place hidden back in an old factory building. A nice laid back ambiance. Staff is friendly. Some snacks but no real food available. A fair number of taps with more hits than misses. Beers are well priced. | | Tmoney99 (332), Cincinnati, Ohio | | March 29, 2012 Not easy parking and not ambiant but good people and good beer. Well worth a visit. | | blackflag321 (18), Lansing, Michigan | | January 20, 2012 Visited twice on a long weekend visit to the area. It was busy on our evening visit and empty the next afternoon. I like it because it doesn’t try to be anything but what it is: a place at their brewery where you can buy their beer. | | bruwery (21), Lowell, Michigan | | November 16, 2011 This is an interesting place with an interesting vibe. I can’t think of a word to describe it, but I really like the character of this place. When I’m in, it’s usually a younger crowd, so maybe it’s a kind of college bar feel, but with casual conversation as opposed to boisterous, hormonally charged drunks. The difficult to find location and poor signage helps add to the interesting feel of the place.
There is no waitstaff, so you have to walk to the bar to get a drink, but I’ve never had to wait long, and the bartenders are friendly.
The beer isn’t as amazing as when it first opened - a change in brewers kind of messed things up for a while - but it’s still top notch and they still push the envelope on creativity.
There are always plenty of unique offerings on the menu, and I always leave wanting more of what I drank.
There’s no kitchen here, but I don’t come here for food. I’m happy that they keep the focus on making adventurous beers. | | KPD (64), Michigan | | September 24, 2011 [ Updated October 11, 2011 ] Nice brewpub, 11 brews on tap good selection, ranged from a light pale ale to stout to a sour ale. Doesn’t serve food. My easy fav was the farm blend sour amber aged in oak barrels! | | miketd (112), Cleveland, Ohio | | July 24, 2011 Stopped by on a slow Friday. Nice, southwest-like decor with a fairly dark interior. Decent size but still feels cozy. Ordered the sampler plus the IIPA - the beer ranged from poor to good. Had good service, but it was near empty. | | flatmatt (48), Ann Arbor, Michigan | | June 22, 2011 A bit hard to find the first time, as it’s in an odd location without a lot of signage, but once you’re there, it’s pretty nice. One really nice thing was that everything was clearly marked, with the beers and their descriptions all on the big chalkboards and a big "order here" sign in the middle of the bar. It definitely wasn’t busy on this Sunday night, but there were no delays in service with two people tending bar. I was satisfied with the variety of styles available, especially with a great sour brown ale on tap, plus a lower-ABV imperial stout (for the summer I imagine) and a rice-based gluten-free beer (I didn’t try that one) in addition to a good selection of the usual summer suspects. I know some people can be down on places with board games, but they and the local craft root beer kept our non-drinker interested enough that we were able to stay until close. Definitely will be back on a future visit to the area. | | kseecs16 (185), Naperville, Illinois | | May 3, 2011 Open space sharing a the building with a hair salon. Eclectically decorated with a friendly vibe. Service was prompt and enthusiastic. Really enjoyed the beers and wish we could have stuck around longer. | | Brandon8 (13), Indiana | | April 20, 2011 Visited this place after North Peak and was way more impressed; it felt like an actual brewery. The selection was very diverse and the ambiance felt original and honest. I left after 2 beers wishing that I did not live 8 hours away. | | picknbrew (13), Mechanicsville, Virginia | | August 9, 2010 [ Updated July 7, 2011 ] As their motto goes they brew whatever they want whenever they want. There are a few standards that will pop back up but for the most part don’t go in there expecting anything except good beer. The styles and alcohol levels vary. You can always count on a couple of hoppy beers. It is in funky location but convenient. Nice clean ambience. Plenty of parking in the back if you can find it. The prices seem a little steep for the growlers compared to other places. |
