| theisti (273), Leawood, Kansas | | March 20, 2012 Visited for dinner with a large group of adults and kids on a Tuesday night. The space itself is split into three areas - the "grill area" which is more of quiet, white table cloth experience - the bar / pub area which is more of your typical RB experience, and the roof top deck (which is beer only). We chose to sit way in the back of the pub area, and despite our somewhat tucked away location, we had great service. I had a four beer sampler, and the lobster and shrimp taco special. For a RB, the beer selection and quality here are great. The tacos were great as well. The 5 kids were well entertained and taken care of, overall a great spot for a dinner. With its location, I am sure this places gets jammed on the weekends. | | finderman222 (10), , | | March 5, 2012 Could get better service but that’s only cause I’m being picky | | BOLTZ7555 (56), Phoenix, Arizona | | January 1, 2012 Wish I could say that this location separates itself from any other RB other that the beer itself. Unfortunately, the brew is all that differentiates. Nice barrel-aged offerings in addition to their regular brews. Just stop by for a pint, then hit the other stops in Chicago. | | BVery (227), Burnsville, Minnesota | | September 28, 2011 Gave it an extra ambiance point over my other Rock Bottom ratings because its in downtown Chicago, and in my opinion, that’s cool. Fun spot - went here to watch football on a Sunday, had several of their beers. Like the other Rock Bottoms, food/beer is just okay, nothing spectacular. | | cgarvieuk (99), Edinburgh , Scotland | | August 25, 2011 Was made really welcome here, talked through alll there beers, beers were decent, if not all great styles. all told i enjoyed my little trip here | | KPD (64), Michigan | | August 20, 2011 Nice place had a sampler with a good kolsch, a really good belgian wit, a very good ipa, the saison was okish, | | nbondi (39), Chicago, Illinois | | August 10, 2011 In a neighborhood without many choices for good beer, I find myself at Rock Bottom pretty often. Recently the beer list seems to have taken a turn for the worse. While the barrel-aged option is usually excellent, availability is spotty. Standard house brews are uninspired. Seasonal, and special releases are hit and miss. Service here has always been excellent; even when packed. The prime and cheddar sandwich is one of my favorite things to eat in Chicago. I’ll keep going back, but unless something changes, I’ll be less excited about it every time. | | tkrjukoff (133), , Sweden | | May 4, 2011 Typical brew pub/restaurant with separate bar (with full menu) and dining area. Helpful and friendly staff, food excellent as the beers were very good. A sampler of 6 for $4,95. | | jrallen34 (207), Chicago, Illinois | | March 31, 2011 This brewery is located smack dab in the middle of downtown Chicago. Being such its always busy which sucks and forever has has annoying construction around making it tough to get in and out.
The atmosphere is nothing special, its a a regular busy restaurant with a couple tvs throughout. Its too busy and cramped for me.
The quality is ok, they have decent beers of their own making. However, the quality and selection of guest beers is severely lacking.
The service is ok. They are not beer people, but nice enough. Cannot offer you good suggestions.
The selection is pretty weak, usually only 5-6 of their brews and not much of a choice of anything else.
The food bar food, and average at that. For the restaurant it is, it should be a lot better. | | showtime (11), , Norway | | March 8, 2011 Nice place with ordinary food. A good selection of beer on tap. Well worth a visit! |
