| Dixonian (79), Dallas, Texas | | May 2, 2012 This place exudes all things Rogue from the signage to the walls inside. Waiter was slammed but still attentive and friendly. Didn’t have any food but did enjoy a nice flight of some great Rogue brews that I’ve never bought in bottles due to the price. | | tkingsbury2 (15), San Diego, California | | April 13, 2012 Pretty cool spot in the Pearl District. While there is a odd food areaon the left, the right side has the bar with bottles everywhere. For a non-Portlander the beer selection was good and it had a cool vibe about it. I grabbed some beer and bought a pint glass, good times... | | raphael (26), Portland, Oregon | | March 5, 2012 Rogue makes some fine beers. Why does it cost more for a glass of Rogue at their own pub than it does at a bar a couple blocks away. One time I went there, sat at the bar right in front of the bartender and the cash register. After being ignored 5 minutes i walked out and drank elsewhere. Another time the bartender wasn’t interested in answering more than one question. The food is standard pub grub. The waitresses are a little better with customers. | | notalush (256), Denver, Colorado | | December 15, 2011 Visited for nostalgic reasons - mix of olde timey pub and one side and Denny’s-like restaurant on the other side - a lot smaller than expected - servers seemed used to beer tourists and, since it was obvious that I was one, I felt a little strange, as if th waitstaff didn’t like the beer tourists - just the vibe I got - they kept giving me "the eyes" - all the standard Rogue brews on tap - they are also now carrying the Buckman beers there are made out at Green Dragon, which is apparently owned by Rogue - those beers, sadly, are pretty bad - 6 bucks for 4 four ounces in a flight s a bit high for this town - meh, I was underwhelmed. | | maxim2112 (10), Milwaukee, | | December 11, 2011 Very nice tap selection from the Rogue catalog. The selection might not be impressive if you’re from the area but if you’re from out-of-town you’ll be seeing stuff for the first time.
It’s Rogue; if you are visiting Portland you have to stop. | jleblanc (5), , Massachusetts does not count - explanation | | November 15, 2011 rogue, they make okay beer, right? no? anyway, i went here for lunch figuring i had to give his place a chance. the tap list was okay, but didnt really give any detailed description on the format or style of beer, so i found myself having to look up what style the beers were, shame on me for not drinking more rogue and already knowing i guess. ordered a shakespear stout that turned out to be on nitro, whatever. the decor reminded me of a cross between an applebees and a weed head’s college dorm room. the menu was vast but the food was pathetic. rubbery chicken, overly salty fries. frankly, im pysched i didnt get food poisoning. i couldn’t leave this place fast enough | | CheersMate (132), Fremont (Seattle), Washington | | September 19, 2011 My co-workers wanted to go here when I was in Portland on business - go figure! Well, the selection is, well, uh, Rogue beers. I think they had a guest tap or two, but honestly, they didn’t have anything that is special. Everything they have here, you can easily get at a beer store in Portland. It’s not a horrible place, don’t get me wrong, but when you come to a place like this you’d expect at least one thing special, but they didn’t have that. Oh well, I’m not terribly disappointed as I expected this. Well, the food and service were pretty good, although the server was pretty adamant about double-, no, triple-checking our I.D.s. Again, oh well. Overall, I’d give many, many other places a try before going here. Sorry Rogue, you just didn’t do it for me. | | nbutler11 (226), Phoenix, Arizona | | July 23, 2011 Fun spot. Love the history on the walls. Not very large for the reputation and distribution that Rogue has, but they had a ton of beers on and some good food. Service was a bit slow, but friendly. Definitely worth a visit. | | savnac (155), Anchorage, Alaska | | July 13, 2011 Grungy sort of dirty place. Sat at the bar for a couple of beers. Service was pretty bad, the 2 bartenders were just very unfriendly and not helpful at all. Selection was all the typical Rogue beers with a couple of different non-bottled versions. Prices we ok and you could take bottles to go. I just wasn’t impressed with this place at all, boring beers, unfriendly staff and dingy environment. Won’t go back here. | | mabel (211), Toronto, Ontario | | July 13, 2011 2010-06. Visited very late on a Sunday evening last June to cap off the night. Place is surrounded by a ton of bottles on multi-levels, wooden tables and chairs galore, loud locals, and quiet music. We tried a sampler of their brews from a choice of nearly 30 on tap as well as their two rums, which were quite a kick. Service was fine, too late for food. Would return! |
