Very busy place next to Belvedere, many tourists there. They serve their one beers like Maerzen, Helles or Weizen which are the common styles. No bad beers at all, but they are also not very impressing. The service was ok for the reason of many people inside, we just got two seats left. Traditional kitchen with good food and medium to high prices in my opinion. So it´s a quite good place to get good food and some refreshing standard beers with many tourists there, but if you look for more special beers, there are some other good places in Vienna.
Came here in the late afternoon and the place was packed. Somehow they found us a table for two, but when we were leaving there was a queue at the entrance. Seemed more like eating than drinking place. They serve their own brews, pilsner was quite good. Food was quite good as well. Worth visiting.
A nice beer hall with a patio. Busy and quite large. Touristy and slow service as well as arrogance that to have their only special, the chilli beer you have to have a litre! Needless to say I did not bother as it as the start of a massive crawl and chilli beer not my favourite style but I would have tried 300ml. Probably no loss as their Pils, Weizen and Dunkel were all very ordinary.
I have been living in Vienna the longest time, but never made it to Salm Bräu. The place is located next to Belevedere Palace so it is quite touristy. When we got there the place was pretty full, not packed, but most tables were occupied when we got there (Tuesday night). So we just sat at the bar. Interior of the place is nice. Food looked quite good too, but we did not eat. They have the typical standard offer of beers in Vienna. Weizen, Helles, Märzen, Dunkles. They do have a Chili Beer called "Burning Hell", unfortunatly they only sell it in 1l bottles. Kinda stupid if you ask me. Who would buy that, unless you are there with a large group? Anyway, the beers I had were quite average, nothing to write home about. In my opinion there are way better brewpubs in Vienna like Lichtenthaler Bräu or also 1516, which is not that far from Salm Bräu.
Just outside strict centre. Quite busy which is no surprise because the food is really great. A fasir selection of home made beers, all of them perfectly nice. Atmosphere and place has that local feel to it which is nice.
