Sam’s is great and well worth a trip. I decided to stop in a pick up a few things while in route from DC to Myrtle Beach. The staff was helpful and even poured a few samples while I was shopping. Most of their stuff cost a bit higher than other places but nothing outrageous. They seems to have a ton of Mikeller, Sweetwater, New Belgium and Big Boss. Lots of America Craft. Their German section is a bit lack luster but then again, no one is going crazy of lagers theses days so its somewhat expected. Cant wait to go back.

Has the ambiance of an Exxon station. Well it is an Exxon station if 80% of the floor space were filled with beer. I love the fact that what little BMC they had was hidden in the back. I can’t recall a beer store with so many coolers. They must have had 20-25. The selection of national and Belgian craft was especially good. I wish they had more local stuff but that’s a minor quibble, I guarantee most folks will find something there they’ve never had before. Definitely one of the best in the nation.

AMBIANCE - I love the feel of all this magnificent beer in a convenience store environment. Once you’re past the bland exterior, it is a beer wonderland. SERVICE - Helpful when prodded, personable always. SELECTION - I mean...this is about as perfect as it gets, so it deserves the highest rating. Walking through Sam’s, you are assaulted with an unthinkable amount of choices. The only thing that can stop their stock is distribution restrictions. I truly believe they would try to stock everything if they could get it. VALUE - You’ll likely spend a lot of money here, but not because the stuff is priced too high! OVERALL - What more can I say, I’m really glad I live only 25 minutes from Sam’s.

So this place literally looks like an old, run down, crappy Gas Station. But it is 2% Gas Station crap lagers, and 98% great craft. I came out of the store a bit weak in the wallet but it was well worth the pain. I’ll be back.

They are great. I go there almost weekly if not more. The guys working there in the morning are great. They hook you up if you are a loyal customer. The no doubt have the biggest selection of beers in all the area. I must for anyone in the Durham area!

Right down the street from Duke. Like most on here have said this looks like you avearage quicky mart from the outside but once you walk in BAM your a-hole to elbow in beer heaven. They took every available inch of space and stuffed it with beer. Lots of regular micros like New Belgium, Founders and Bells but they have tons of local North Carolina beers that you probably have never heard of. Staff is hippy and laid back but helpful if asked. Deffinalty worth finding.

It looks like just an unassuming convinience store, but I was quickly surprised by the selection. The staff was very friendly, but not intrusive, and knowledgable. We mixed a six pack, and the price was fairly standard. Great place, and if I was closer, it’d be my store of choice. Unfortunately, it’ll just have to be saved for those special trips. Can’t wait to get back there!
