Hey I can’t complain. This might resemble a hole, but they have the goods. I left, only to make a uturn and go back for more.

Porn and Beer ... how can you go wrong ... stopped on my drive from Atlanta to DC .... I skipped past the porn and found tons of beer, refrigerated and shelved .... it seemed disorganized at 1st but after searching through the store I realized it was only semi-disorganized ... the staff was cool, awesome background music ... great prices compared to NOVA ... the Mikkeller was stored right behind a refrigerated cooler (must have been 100 deg) ... I passed on the Mikkeller, but at least they had it (and at a fair price) ... picked up a load of beers that I haven’t seen in VA .... I’m going to stop here every time I’m traveling 85 ...

Bi-polar store. First part makes a 7-11 look like a high class place. Next room over, and you have a phenomenal selection. They have plenty of macro selections, but they also dedicate major space to craft beers from all over the world. Decent prices with some good sales. Selection is a little haphazard looking, but everything is pretty well labeled. They allow you to break sixers, and the staff is helpful and friendly. Best beer store I’ve seen yet. You must stop here if you’re anywhere near Durham.

I’ve never been here. NC really used to have a limit of 6% ABV for beer? That is unbelievable. I still can’t get over how hard liquor isn’t even sold in grocery stores or gas stations.

This place looks like crap- maybe a converted strip club/gas station cig store. Luckily, not all books are like their covers. Once you walk past the cheap porn mags and doritos you find a selection of beer that is probably the best within a reasonable drive, definitely the best on a daily basis. The shelving and displays are a bit unkempt, some of the really good beers are directly under bright lights- ugh- Oh well, they always have something very good on sale for a very good price- some of the good belgians but could really expand there- They have Bells mini kegs Struise Pannepot! St.Bernardus Special Edition 12! Not a place for good wine selection- some average stuff and one old bottle of Caymus in the glass display. My daily stop.

I love this place. The ambiance is divisive for folks, I’m sure, but I love that it’s just a quick stop (or in this case a Quik Shop). The staff know their beer, and they’re nicer than a lot of folks assume. GREAT selection and they do everything they can to get everything they can. Definitely a must-visit if you’re from out of town. If you’re in town and don’t know about it... then you don’t like beer.

I’ve never rated a place before, but considering this is now the only place I buy beer, I figure it’s time. When I was in college, this was the only place I knew of where you could buy gas, kegs, pickled pigs’ feet, and hardcore pornography. Now, the porn is (mostly) gone, and in its place is the largest selection of beer I’ve ever seen. If it’s distributed to the Triangle, Sam’s probably has it. The prices are fine and they do a great job of rotating in and out seasonals. The staff definitely knows their beer, and if they’re in the right mood will even help you out with suggestions if you ask. If you don’t, they leave you the hell alone...perfect!

Wow. This place looks like a real hole in the wall convenience store, but they have an extremely good selectionthe best I have seen in NC. I went to sam’s two or three times before the 6%, but the place really seems to have come into its own after the law changed. The selection reminds me of places I have been in DC...

Service is average. Selection makes up for it and they may know this. If you are in NC looking for a beer, and this place doesn’t have it. Its probably unavailable in NC. Optional lifetime club membership for $15. This place drives me crazy with the beer club. One day certain high gravity - above 6% beers receive the discount, the next, regular price. Very inconsistent and annoying.

Wow, this place is awesome. It looks like your run-of-the-mill convenience store from the outside and when you enter, but then there is a huge room with a great beer selection. I saw/purchased a few things I haven’t seen anywhere else in North Carolina. Prices are reasonable, too. I got to talk shop (i.e., beer) with Magjaryna, too. A must-visit if you’re in the area.
