| AWMiller (13), Mansfield, Texas | | September 21, 2011 Good spot to load up on the brews and wine! Sam and team push out some serious customer service so if you can’t find it, ask!!! | JokerXgg (1), Carrollton, Texas does not count - explanation | | August 10, 2011 [ Updated May 5, 2012 ] Wonderful store, great variety, and Matt is very knowledgeable and helpful. A pity this store had to be closed. | | Dixonian (79), Dallas, Texas | | May 26, 2011 same owners as Lone Star Beverages - nice place with a pretty good selection. Doesn’t have the beer cave Lone Star does but can usually find anything I’m looking for here. They’re always trying to get the latest and greatest brews in stock and the staff is friendly. | | blutt59 (121), Dallas, Texas | | May 22, 2011 newer store off the Bush and marsh, get all the new stuff and usually have more quantity, nice people | MonarchDJ (1), Texas does not count - explanation | | March 31, 2011 Matt is knowledgable and friendly. Rick ensures a quality selection and a fair price. I’m happy I live so close! | | BarZigKin (29), San Antonio, Texas | | November 18, 2010 Great (Lonestar related) 2nd location that’s very close to my office in Carrollton. Clean, well-lit, well-organized and clearly displayed product all get high marks from me. Met Matt (friendly and knowledgeable) and got some great info on upcoming beers. The service and selection on my visit was very good and I see myself stopping here often and in the near future. | | Mora2000 (52), Dallas, Texas | | September 11, 2010 New store ran by the people who run Lonestar Beverage. Located near the George Bush Turnpike for easy access. The owner is a Ratebeerian and really knows his beer. One of the better selections in Dallas. Seems to be one of the first stores to get new beers. Definitely one of the better stores in DFW and one to hit if you are visiting the area. | | thirdeye11 (33), Dallas, Texas | | August 3, 2010 I’m always a fan of Rick and his establishments. This one is no exception. Top notch service, and great selection of the newest beers to come to town. Very convenient for me as well in terms of location.
Pros:
* Excellent pricing
* Newest beers in town
* Top notch service
* Nice build-your-own 6-pack cooler
Cons:
* Lack of full Belgian selection
* Still no un-refrigerated section (stouts, Belgians, anything high gravity would be nice)
| | Botnik (10), Carrollton, Texas | | August 1, 2010 [ Updated September 8, 2010 ] Rick has talked for some time about opening a second store, named for his dad, Sam. Like Lone Star, Sam’s sells BudMillerCoors to pay the bills, but the rest is all about craft beer. | cowboy7096 (2), Arlington, Texas does not count - explanation | | July 13, 2010 It’s hard to rate palces like this - there really aren’t many places in Arlington that I can compare this to so, natually, I want to give top scores for everything. I knocked a couple scores down only because I felt I was being too nice haha.
The visble selection they have in coolers was alright. There are places with larger selections, but they still had several things you can’t easily find.
I was blown out of the water by the service - The manager they just hired (Matt? I’m pretty sure he was Matt) really knew what he was talking about and really seemed passionate about the beer selection they had. It appears that they are pulling the more popular beers and keeping them in the back, so if you aren’t seeing what you are looking for it might be worth asking.
When looking for something rare this will be the first place I check. |
