Fielding (3), , does not count - explanation | | April 21, 2012 Had a couple of beers on tap while waiting for the tour. 14 Schlafly beers on tap. Nice atmosphere but the music was too loud. Didn’t try the food. | | Toes14 (11), Ballwin, Missouri | | July 19, 2011 Went there for a happy hour with my wife’s extended family. There were 20-30 of us all total. Was disappointed that they didn’t offer at least 1 or 2 standard domestic brews (since my wife wanted a Bud Light and bitched about them not having any).
The beer was great, but the problem of the night was with the restaurant portion. About 10-12 of us wanted dinner, and although they weren’t that busy and had plenty of workers just standing around, it took them forever to pull enough tables together for the group. We left after waiting 30 minutes and they still hadn’t seated our party.
One other complaint is the lack of a kids menu. I guess they expect only beer enthusiasts to go to this place, as they aren’t making it easy for families and those of us with non beer enthusiast spouses to enjoy the place. | | csaso (71), Missouri | | July 13, 2011 One of my favorite places in STL to go. Awesome, local food. Even better local beer - of course they only serve their Schlafly beer, but they always have a good range of styles available to choose from, so no matter what you are in the mood for, you will be able to find one to fit it. | | jmagnus87 (33), Carbondale, Illinois | | March 31, 2011 Pretzel encrusted chicken is awesome! Had it with the Schlafly APA. Make sure to take the tour while youre here! | | jandd1983 (87), Florissant, Missouri | | March 6, 2011 Tried the spring sampler with a light meal, not bad. The beer was fresh and the selection was decent. Had been before and wanted to try it again. Decent selection of menu items, and a knowledgeable wait staff. We prefer the Tap House due to their larger variety of brews. | | lushawn (164), Boston, Massachusetts | | November 24, 2010 dinner with phaleslu and pals on a sunday evening. big place. large outdoor patio. a bar area with a live band playing. a dining room. a couple more hidden rooms/bars. got the pesto, chicken pizza. was okay, but peter’s meat pizza was better... roughly 12 schlafly beers on tap. not exactly a quaint place as it’s size takes away from the ambiance a bit, but enjoyed my time here. | | JMerritt (65), Macomb, Illinois | | October 1, 2010 Stopped by for a lunch during the week, place was near empty. They have a nice little gift area up front and some brewery memorabilia which is kind of neat to look at. Selection was kind of disappointing - only standard bottled stuff, 1 seasonal and 1 special. The selection at the Tap House across town is much better. Food was great; ordered a few of their pizzas and thought the crust was great. Would stop in again, but only after I’ve visited the Tap House. | | theisti (273), Leawood, Kansas | | September 22, 2010 Visited on a Monday afternoon, right after work. There was a decent crowd out on a the large covered outdoor patio, and maybe a dozen folks indoors at the bar. The space is actually quite large, and seemed to be dual purpose for normal bar and end of tour hang out area. My service was good, nice guy. My fellow bar patrons were also quite nice, had a good conversation about beer. There are 11-12 taps on, mostly their regular lineup. , a seasonal and maybe one that is more experimental. I was a bit disappointed I didn’t find anything it more unique. that Comfortable place, had a nice neighborhood vibe to it. Not sure I would go back, but if I was in the area I am sure I would hit it up from time to time. | | msante79 (253), Mount Prospect, Illinois | | May 26, 2010 Stopped in for some dinner tonight. Little bit of everything here. Good sized production brewery with tours, gift shop, restaurant, and tap room. Had the Chicken Enchiladas which were better than average. had 2 beers which were both really soild. Had a tour going on at 9:45 on Wednesday which was looked pretty cool. Tap room is nice and staff was cool. 11 or so beers on tap. Had all six pack for sale including a mixed sixer which was nice to see at a brewery. Awesome glasswear selection. Picked up 2008 BA Barleywine and a snifter to go. | | Ryan82SM (65), Louisville, Kentucky | | April 9, 2010 My first brewery trip. When you enter, there is a restaurant and gift shop on the left, with the brewery and local brewer nostalgia on the right. The tour was educating, but a little boring at times. I was sad that our path was limited. Our tour guide was very nice and seemed to have a genuine passion for beer. At the end of the tour, we were able to try some standard brews, but also a blackberry cider, which was delicious, and only available at the brewery. The tour guide stayed after the tour was over and poured beers at request. The extra stout was exceptional. A good selection of their beers on tap and for sale at their store. Tour and beer on the tour was FREE! A good experience. |
