As others have mentioned, this place is a real dump/dive, but in a charming sort of way. There are a few parking spaces reserved for customers in the back, if needed. Cash only, though someone else mentioned there is an ATM machine inside. Place is fairly narrow, but long, front to back. Tons of coolers with tons of beer. Easily over 1000 different bottles from many different countries. Several draft options available, but unfortunately, I did not have time to partake. Had a nice chat with Sergio and his brother. Only negative here would be some of the beer looks like itís been sitting in the coolers a very long time.
Cool place to stop in. Big bottle selection and quite an impressive selection of draft lines. Lots of shelves and several coolers. We had a few there and grabbed a couple bottles to go. A bit pricy but definitely worth it. [9/10/15]

Parking is on the street and the night we went there was a big biker ralley, so parking was somewhat challenging. The place does not have a sign, so you could walk right past it if you have never been. Place is long front to back while slightly narrow width wise providing a cozy atmosphere with the taps up front and bottles in coolers, a refrigerator, and a walk-in beer cooler along the way. Service was good, Sergio was cool. Beer draft selection was good. Bottle selection was enormous and they even had pretty fresh Oracle. Pricing is a little high, but nothing crazy. I hope to go back. You can buy bottles to go which is also a nice option.
Amazing selection of bottles stuffed in all nooks and crannies of a renovated shotgun house. Great draft selection. Honor system payments with extremely reasonable prices. Could not get two words out of bartender in over two hours and the food was atrocious but those negatives really only added to this 100% beer-centric establishments charm. Doesnt get much better than sergios. Hope i get a chance to return.
Its like bizzaro land in this place. Looks tiny from the outside, pretty empty on a Tuesday night. Little bar with maybe 8 seats. I belly up and check out the taplist, which is nice without being extraordinary. Ordered a Zombie Dust and start to check out the coolers. I get done with the 5 or 6 in front and think, nice, but nothing special. Then I realize that what I thought was a hall to the bathroom goes much, mucn further back, past a kitchen to a whole back room, much larger than the first, with beer coolers EVERYWHERE. Whoah. A lot of shit here. I will say that I found no whales in my searches, but a lot of stuff that I would be happy to drink. Not sure on freshness. FWIW, they no longer have Goose Island Imperial IPA :). Oh, its cash only, but they have an ATM inside.
No clue why this place is so highly rated. Yes, there are unending coolers throughout the place loaded with beer from around the world, but 90% of it is old...all of the bottles I tried (which had no bottling/BB dates) got dumped down the drain due to extreme oxidation. And others that were dated were 2-4 years old (maybe older). Thatís fine for some lambics, and Orval, but most everything else has rotted. Itís the reason Valu Market is in the top 10 in Louisville...lots of bottles. But there too, the stock is all dusty and years old. Fine for beer bros who like stale beer, but useless for the rest of us. The tap list was pretty good here, which saves the place from being a waste of time...while thereís some generic junk on the list, thereís plenty of decent stuff to pick from as well. Unfortunately they donít do samples or small pours (at least Holy Grale offers 5oz samples of everything!), so I blew a lot of money here on stuff I couldnít drink (stouts from Hammerheart and BFM and 3 Floyds...the latter, Blot out the Sun, was truly awful, smelled of human body odor and almost nothing else, didnít even rate it it was so horrific). And all the bottles I tried were oxidized/cardboardy. I managed to find one good beer (Ducato Brett Peat), so all in all a poor showing, percentage wise. The bartender was extremely pleasant/kind/helpful (think his name was Cory), but the bar reeks of bait shop, it really is not a pleasant venue. While I will likely revisit Louisville someday, I can honestly say I have no desire to revisit Sergioís.
Dimly lit, bar atmosphere, but definitively more "hipster" bar than "white girl" party bar... Which is a good thing. Friendly bartenders, pretty nice selection of taps & quite a few more bottles, although the prices of the bottles are pretty steep. I guess thatís to be expected at a "bar", though. Seems like the taps rotate pretty regularly, too, as the menu had lots of hand written taps added in. Cool place.
Visited during a trip to Louisville. What a place. Met Sergio upon our entrance and spent most of the time in conversation with him about his bar, travels and beers. Unbelievable selection of beers from the tap list to probably the largest selection of beers Iíve ever seen. The best part you donít need a book, you just walk thru the entire bar and check it out for yourself. You can drink anything there or take anything away. Most beers are at prices that make sense regardless of their limited nature or rarity. Overall, one of the best bars in the country due to the selection and Sergioís knowledge of what he has. A must visit location as one of the best in the country hidden in a suburban area of Louisville.
I have to rate this place after visiting, not that it will impact the score that much with all the fake ratings. Anyway, itís a hole-in-the-wall a little east of downtown Louisville. It doesnít appear to have been cleaned in years, the glasses (decorations, not ones they use) are dusty, the place smells like a deep fryer, and it has carpets, which is always a bad idea for a bar. The shelves sag in the middle. Itís a dump, and not quite the kind I was expecting, but it has its charms. The bottle selection is ridiculous, in good and surprising and strange ways - lots of unexpected treats, but also things like 2007 Goose Island Imperial IPA for $10. The tap list is excellent, but I wondered about the age of the kegs after one of the things I tried tasted at least a few years old. Prices are high in general, but I guess thatís what happens when you buy things at retail price and have to mark them up again (there are definitely things for sale that donít get distributed in Louisville). We didnít eat here, which Iím told was to our benefit. The fryer smell, mustiness, and major hoarding issues were enough to keep my wife from ever coming back, but I will definitely be back here from time to time to try something unexpected. Such a weird place. I donít know how to rate it, really.
