Best ran Sheffield alehouse by miles. Great, well kept, real ales from all over UK and, recently added couple of European craft beers and always an American craft on the keg too. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, really friendly pub, super value prices. It does get busy On Saturday night

Regularly changing guest cask beers from all over the country, argualbly the best pub in Sheffield for obscure beers / new ticks. When not busy the staff kindly offer cellar runs on top of the good choice!

Lots of good cask ale, often with an emphasis on the pale & hoppy, some decent bottles and the occasional interesting keg beer. The service is outstanding, I’ve always found Shakespeare’s very friendly. The decor might be a down at heel for some but for me this is one of the very best pubs in town.

Located just a minute or so from the Kelham Island Tavern on what has to be one of the best pub crawl routes in England. The ambiance is a little less inviting than other pubs in the area. The seating’s a bit awkward. There’s no carpets, not much in the way of decoration. This place used to put on a lot of noise/experiemental gigs, it retains a stripped-down vibe. The selection’s pretty big, well-curated. There were about 8-10 cask options plus a few beers on keg. Plenty of local stuff plus some arcane options from around England. The service was decent. The prices are great, quite cheap indeed. Overall, this place lacks the charm of a pub like the Kelham Island Tavern, but it still has a worthy selection of ales.

A little walk from the city centre but well worth the effort. A lovely oak panelled bar is the centrepiece of this old city pub that probably hasn't changed much in a hundred years. Great real selection with nine cask beers plus a collection of kegs for the non-believers. It's really great sitting in the front bar watching the sun shine through the lovely leaded windows. There's free wifi and sandwiches/nuts/crisps too, but no kitchen. A really awesome little boozer for the beer lover! Thanks to the person who first added this place because without you we would never have found it.

lots of handpumps and 1 keg. Good selection of local brews and some foreign beers. Fat Cat and Kelham Island are better but it’s still a nice pitstop

Old skool boozer, which was smartly preserved and modernised, sort of, with a range of beer paraphenalia on the walls. Good cask choices and fascinating multi room layout. Another beautiful pub on the Valley of Beer crawl. Not far from Fat Cat, Harlequin and Wellington.

Interesting pub in an area full of good pubs. Especially liked the interesting outside space here, its huge. Decent local cask beers on the bar, not all terribly great, but unusual and some very good.

recently re-opened by a former Harlequin manager. 8 handpulls, serving Abbeydale Deception and a range of well-kept guest beers (usually a mix of local brews and rarities from further afield). Regular beer festivals. Comfortable, with friendly staff. regular live music - only downside to the place is they often have jazz on the speakers!
