| rumproasts (34), Grand Rapids, Michigan | | April 30, 2012 highly rated for good reason. if it’s sold in michigan, you can almost certainly find it here (other than dogfish head, which doesn’t seem to be available west of lansing). friendly service and great prices. | mjshearer1 (1), Michigan does not count - explanation | | February 21, 2012 Best beer store in the state, hands down. Enormous selection, some of the rarest finds, home brewing equipment/advice, great staff, everything that you’d ever want in a beer store and more. I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I go. | | kevinsenn (31), Waterloo, Ontario | | February 21, 2012 One of the highlights of my Michigan beer tour for sure. A great shop with tons of bottles, and friendly knowledgable staff. Tons of Michigan craft brew, as well other U.S. craft brew and lots of imports. Some good prices, some too high. I would’ve liked to see more U.S. craft brew, but I was still overwhelmed with the selection nonetheless. And the late hours are fantastic! Showed up at 8:30pm on a Sunday night and had plenty of time to look around! | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | January 16, 2012 Large store packed with beers, all available as singles. Prices are OK. Emphasis is on Michigan stuff, but there are unusual finds from near and far. Helpful and friendly staff. Decent enough prices. | | RudiNicole (77), Michigan | | December 10, 2011 A must visit when I head to Grand Rapids. The whole store is mix 6, and they have an awesome selection. The staff is friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable. You can also buy all your home-brewing equipment as well. | | cratez (100), London, Ontario | | November 5, 2011 Third stop on a recent trip to Grand Rapids with nicktbm and our significant others. Dropped by on a Saturday afternoon just before heading to the 9th Annual Founders Harvest Party. This place has an endless selection of craft beer. Half-a-dozen aisles are lined with every beer imaginable from popular US micros, local Michigan crafters, and reputable European breweries (both new and old). I grabbed 25 bottles, including Avery Ellie’s Brown Ale, Southern Tier Harvest Ale, Stoudts Fat Dog Imperial Oatmeal Stout, Arcadia IPA, Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Weizenbock, New Holland Mad Hatter IPA, 2007 Gale’s Old Prize Ale, and Mikkeller Stateside IPA, among many others. As with any large beer store, you have to watch for out of code products, but most of the stock is new. The staff and customers chatted with us while we were shopping and told us more about the Harvest Party and what to expect. One of the clerks was particularly helpful in recommending good Michigan brews. My friend and I received 10% discounts on our cases and the cashier suggested that we check out Graydon’s Crossing for a great beer bar. We took him up on his reco the next day. In terms of prices, 25 beers came to $70, which is fair enough to me. Overall, Siciliano’s is a world class beer store with all sorts of "extra" goodies like cigars, home brewing supplies, and wine-making kits. It’s an absolute must-visit in the Grand Rapids area, and the best beer store that I’ve come across thus far. | freehafe (3), Jenison, Michigan does not count - explanation | | October 20, 2011 [ Updated March 18, 2012 ] Located in a smaller store outside of Grand Rapids, but don’t let the unassuming building fool you, this place is packed to the gills with beer, wine, as well as homebrew, wine, and cheese making equipment. Very large selection, helpful and knowledgeable staff. | carltjones (2), Michigan does not count - explanation | | July 30, 2011 Likely my favorite store to visit, ever. The extensive, revolving craft beer selection and BYO 6-pack allows 15 billion combinations with a good price. There is am awesome, expanded homebrew area and always friendly staff. | | JulienHuxley (64), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec | | July 13, 2011 Very well organized beer store in GR MI. The staff there is very friendly, and they have an awesome selection at very good prices. You can buy singles of everything, which is a nice feature. Decent prices on imported beers and anything you could want from a Michigan brewery. | | Savvy1982 (53), Lethbridge, Alberta | | February 15, 2011 Stunning store. Everything from beer, to specialty tobacco, to homebrewing supplies, to Michigan wines (Michigan makes wine? Apparently so!), to coffee. Every time I said to myself "Okay, there is NO possible way I can fit more beers in my suitcase", there was another must-have. Super-knowledgeable staff, unfathomable selection, and one of the employees drove me and my buddy Jeff back to our hotel so we didn’t miss our bus. Epic bottle-shop. Along with Malt and Vine in Redmond WA, one of the top 2 I’ve been to. |
