| nbutler11 (226), Phoenix, Arizona | | March 28, 2012 An odd place, but with lots of potential. Love the space, even though the location is a bit inconvenient. Their beer is fine, and they occasionally brew up some really interesting stuff with their half barrel series. Worth a visit. | t0rin0 (6), La Verne, California does not count - explanation | | July 6, 2011 Visited 3/4/2011 during Ratebeer Winter Gathering.
Very open and large warehouse type place located in a shopping center across from some apartments that are most occupied by ASU students. There are tables all the way around the perimeter with a couple large round tables in the middle. It was pretty quiet for the first few minutes (we went in right as they reopened for the evening) but then the music was cranked up. They must have just started brewing when we got there because I could smell the malt in the air, and it was very pleasant.
The service was very nice and accomodating. They were happy to pour 5oz samples of everything and answer questions.
The real problem here is the horrible beer. I tried all 9 of their beers and the only one even close to drinkable was the Yellow #1 (their light lager) and even that was a C+ beer.
The only food served is snacks. There is a self serve popcorn machine in the corner and there are some snacks for sale behind the bar (chips and such). | | Terminus (233), Las Cruces, New Mexico | | June 27, 2011 Man, this place is the worst of worst. plain jane inside and the beer suck!!!!!!! Some of the worst beer i have ever had. I even left over half of each sample behind! It was so bad, i didnt even bother rating any of their beers i got so fed up. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! | | fata2683 (125), Tucson, Arizona | | June 18, 2011 this place was relaxed and small on the inside with bar space for about 10 people and various tables throughout. Beer was below average but there were 2-3 standouts. Nice free popcorn machine in the corner. | | douglas88 (117), Salt Lake City, Utah | | March 21, 2011 A smallish brewpub. Some free popcorn. Didn’t eat here. The beer was OK to below average. The service was good. Some couches and TVs. Not a bad spot. | | Sledutah (151), Utah | | March 12, 2011 Small place in a strip mall near the University. Some tables and a few coaches. A few TV’s playing sports/movies/news. The bar has a nice view of the brewery. Service was friendly, the beer was average and below. I don’t plan on going back, but everybody should stop by once. | | Savvy1982 (53), Lethbridge, Alberta | | March 11, 2011 Best of luck finding this place, it’s located in qute possibly the most innocuous location ever. Just another bay in a cookie-cutter Industrial Park Strip Mall, ironically next to a place that sells Ignition Interlocks. Inside is a small area devoted to sitting and having a pint, with a full, nearly unobstructed view of the brewery proper, which I always like. Food consists of about 3 different brands of chips, from a bag. Service was friendly enough, and prompt, but never felt particularly warm. Beers ranged from appaling (Yellow #1) to surprisingly excellent (Tail Chaser IPA), although the overall impression I got from the full range was rather below expectations. Overall, I was rather unimpressed. | playitbybeer (2), San Diego, California does not count - explanation | | March 8, 2011 Cool ambiance, great classic brewpub smell. Couches for relaxing but no pillows which is disappointing. Service was acceptable. The music is early to late 90s. 6 flat screens on the walls. The selection was limited to Sleepy Dog beers which, on the whole, were not very good. | | DaSilky1 (66), San Diego, California | | March 6, 2011 Small place in some unassuming industrial-like strip mall where weird high school/college freshman-like people walk around outside shirtless and in bathing suits, like there’s a lake or community pool nearby. Inside the brewery its got some bright green and purple thing going on...couple couches that werent very comfortable for lying down or falling asleep on, 6 or 7 flat screen tvs playing random sitcoms and movies...the beers here are the worst I had in Arizona, and that’s on top of Arizona having some shitty ass beer as a while. This place itself was aight, I suppose...average brewpub, maybe put too much effort into the interior design, could have used that effort in the brewing process. | | bleeng (102), Houston nowhere near Beersel, Texas | | July 7, 2010 Brewery located in an industrial/warehouse area east of ASU-just a bit off the beaten track. (BTW the map on this website is incorrect). Not real busy on a weekday afternoon. Clean, minimally decorated bar and seating area with several TV’s and the tanks at the rear of the premises. Serves about 6-8 of their own beers-mostly the basic blonde/brown/IPA/hefe but also had a barleywine on tap. Service was efficient and friendly. We’ll see if they catch on. |
