This was day 1 of the "blizzard" of 2015. Iíd love to spend time in this state and check out the music scene, as well as what the beer scene has to offer, but you people are ridiculous. An inch of snow and you declare a state of emergency and shut down all the stores, schools, and even gas stations. Seriously? A tourist from California who has never driven in snow before managed to drive a front wheel drive rental car 300 miles from Nashville to Asheville without incident and you clowns canít even serve a beer? Well, actually this particular place DID serve beer but they were in the process of closing so they could get home before it got any more "dangerous" to drive. I heard two excuses the whole trip: 1) that they know how to drive in the snow but no one else does, and 2) that they arenít prepared for something that happens several times a year. Yeesh.
The good news is that they were still open and that I did get my Tennessee BBQ tick as well as brewery tick. They had 7 or 8 taps going at the time. None were particularly impressive but I guess they werenít terrible. Most were too sweet and boring. There was a helles, a blonde, red, brown, pale, porter, and some seasonals that were just named by their style (whereas the regular beers all had real names). One of them, I think it was the Windy Gap Wheat, had an interesting story as itís gone through several name changes due to legal challenges. I guess now theyíre back to the original name.
The food was pretty good, better than the beer. We split the rack of ribs. The sides were alright. Iíd order the ribs again here. The beer, meh. Prices were a little high on everything. Iíd say that the service was too eager to leave but they did wait for us and serve us lunch, so thereís that.

Nice wide open place. Long bar that is usually full after 4pm. Food is good really like their pizza. Service is sketchy at times when it gets packed. Seldom new beers on tap but regular offerings are pretty solid.

Soccer tournament visit to Knoxville area led to this stellar stop. I counted no less than 27 TVs compared to 10 taps. Their seasonal IPA was enjoyable at best. Drinkable is closer. The pleasant and helpful waitress described one of their brews "That one is just like Budweiser". The classic rock soundtrack was quality, but a bit loud. Steve Miller always a good call though. Now, Slow Ride. I think Iíll not finalize this rating and just update the song list. I do enjoy seeing the 60-somethings drinking from 33oz mugs.

At first I thought the other comments were being a little harsh, but then I started rating it and came up with similar numbers.
Ambiance is Loud, even away from the bar. If i am eating dinner with my family I do not want to have to talk over the TVís. Turn on close captioning or just turn it down a notch.
Service was excellent could not ask for mroe.
Selection of beer is decent for a microchain, I specifically liked the Cherokee Red. The biggest problem is there is not a whole lot of choices in Knoxville. Sadly enough this is one of the better choices.
Food is decent though nothing stands out.
Value is good. Decent food decent beer and decent price? Pretty good value in my book.
Overall I felt underwhelmed after leaving. Normally after leaving a place I either really loved it or hated it. This place was right in the middle for me.

This really doesnít differ much from the other Smoky Mountain Breweries, except perhaps in the clientele. Catering to a somewhat pretentious crowd makes it a little less of a comfortable hangout than the other locations. But they still have 8 or so house brews on tap at a time, with bottles available. Happy hour is the time to hit it, very good deals then.

Upper middle class suburbia at its finest. Cheap undistinguished beer and food, with TV sports blaring so you donít have to think or talk. Plenty of upscale consumer-type shopping surrounding the place, to help you get more numb. Probably a good destination for most, but as you can tell it just ainít my thing.

Cheaper ingredients, but a cheaper pint. Can be a good trade sometimes. Easy to watch a basketball game here. Place is very fresh, very new.

Has carry out bottles of SMB, standard SMB taps and the seasonal tap. The food is different than Calhounís, more sports bar type grub. Mediocre but serviceable.

I visited this brewpub during a recent business trip to Knoxville. The hotel I was staying at didnít carry VS on the TV, so I ventured out to watch the Penguins playoff game, and ended up here. Located in a suburban shopping area with plenty of parking, a nice outdoor seating area, and lots of thirsty patrons. Beers are decent, about what youíd expect from this type of place. The stout was the best, but wasnít a show stopper. Bar area was clean, with seating for 15 or so. Lots of TVís to stare at, too. Great service from the bartender made the visit even better. Worth a stop if youíre in the area.

Fair selection of their beers on tap. Food is good with a fair selection. Place to eat outside which is nice. Enjoy their Cherokee Red. They also have a seasonal selection of beer.
