Went here with Jeremy - pretty cool space. The bar itself is small and cramped, but the larger space is very impressive, large wooden tables and everything overlooks the brewing operation, including the nascent barrel room that everybody seems to be talking about. Friendly staff, good prices, and good beer. What more do you want?

I was extremely impressed with this place. Huge expansive room with very high ceilings with an industrial feel and 10 beers on tap at the time. All the beers were quality, especially the IPAs which were fantastic. Servers were very friendly and quick to serve. Prices are very reasonable as well. Iíd say this is a must stop in San Diego.

(Visiting 10/2013): Societe is in the northern part of San Diego (almost in Mira Mesa) on Clairemont Mesa which is not too far off the 805. It is in an industrial/business park, and there is a parking lot in front of the building.
The interior is large and open, with a bar area right past the entrance that features wooden floors and ceiling as well as a long L-shaped bar also sculpted from wood. Cream colored walls augmented with cool Victorian characters in silhouette that correspond to the beers. There is a large board behind the bar depicting the beers on tap, and beyond the bar is a wide open view of the brewery. I also saw a sign cautioning patrons against brewers throwing feces.
The beer selection consists of around 15 taps. On my visit it included The Harlot, Debutante, Widow, Madame, Publican, Bachelor, Apprentice, Pupil, Scrapper, Pugilist, Roustabout and Butcher. All of the beers were enjoyable, and sample sizes are an option.
Service on a Friday afternoon was good. All of the staff with whom I interacted were knowledgeable and were happy to talk beer.
Societe does not offer food.
Overall this is a worthwhile visit for the San Diego area.

They had 6 house beers on when I visited all of which I thoroughly enjoyed, with the Butcher being the highlight. The atmosphere is cool as are all the employees I spoke with. Good prices on half pours and pints.

I like this place. Good selection of their beers with a lot of Belgians and hops bombs to choose from. Exceptionally high quality brews.

Beers were very good as was the service, maybe should have asked the party of loud obnoxious drunks to leave, they were so bad I had to leave myself, will definitely be back to try Sociate again, their beers were everywhere I went in SD!

Really neat prohibition/tavern interior decor with matching beer names. Tasters and full pours available. Almost all of their beers were on tap but they had kicked a couple including their sought after triple IPA. Prices were excellent, beer quality above average. Their Belgian stuff was decent but the stout and IPAs were awesome. Picnic bench seating inside. Popular and crowded even at noon on a holiday. Pretty impressive. Definitely a brewery to keep an eye on.

Great selection, though if you are not interested in IPAs, Stouts, or Belgians, you may not find anything of interest. The space is a large warehouse. Every time I have been there, the place has not been busy. While not advertised as of the last time I visited, they give an AHA discount.
