| beernovice39 (146), South Carolina | | February 27, 2012 Very laid back neighborhood spot. 5 beers on, sample trays etc. Decent beer and service. | | Drake (295), Charlottesville, Virginia | | February 26, 2012 [ Updated April 26, 2012 ] Located South of Asheville. This is a warehouse brewery with a rather large tasting room/bar. Very nice inside and out with tables and a bar that can fit maybe up to 10 people. There is a large courtyard outside that is set up for cornhole and looks like it would be excellent for all kinds of activities. Live music is there frequently. The beers are good to very well made and they occasionally have a guest tap or two. Pints were $3.50 for most beers and there is a four beer sampler for $4.50 and a five beer sampler for an extra buck. The people were exceptionally nice and I’m pretty sure I was talking to one of the owners extensively. Not much food but they do offer pretzels. Dog friendly. A decent amount of parking spaces out front but there are other businesses some those may fill up during the week. A very nice stop worth going out of your way for. | pleasesir (1), Brooklyn, New York does not count - explanation | | October 9, 2011 Huge outdoor walled area with Cornhole, Ladder Golf and seating. Kid and dog friendly, as evidenened by the sidewalk chalk graffiti and free dog biscuits. Four house beers on tap, Belgian Blonde, Copperhead Amber, IPA, and Black Bear Stout. Friendly staff pouring these and two guest beers ( St. Bernardus Abt 12 and Reissdorff Kolsch recently ). There is live music every weekend and often throughout the week too. The stout was awesome, coffee and chocolate flavours but nothing added to it according to the bartender, just the kind of malts used, rich cappuccino coloured head, would be even better if poured with Nitrogen! IPA was good, more of what I would call an East Coast style, dry and bitter, similar to Terrapins’ Hopsecutioner. Plans for an outdoor stage next year, lots of events planned this month, including 2 Octoberfests! Definitely worth a trip to Hendersonville! | | Braudog (611), Hampton, Virginia | | October 7, 2011 October 2011. This is perhaps the biggest hidden gems in the Asheville-area ... super-friendly, family-owned and operated, and quality beers! Situated in a quiet neighborhood in a quiet town, this is a great place to enjoy a pint (or four) and a fresh pretzel. Even on our first (and only, so far) visit, we were warmly welcomed as if we were regulars. The beer was really, really good too, which is always a bonus. This is a DEFINITE stop in the Asheville area!! (#558) |
