First stop in Connecticut that was open (Half Full isnít open on Sundays). I knew nothing about Stamford prior to this stop but it seems to be a busy place. There is a large parking structure across from a strip of popular chains like Target and Buffalo Wild Wings. This place fit right in. There was some charity even that day as most of the customers were wearing blue tshirts that said their team name and something about a walk for something or other. There was also a DJ blasting the music pretty loud. I understand that this place is more of a club or sports bar (depending) but it was barely even noon. I just wanted to get a bite to eat and try the house beers. Oh well. Now I know better.

The beer is the 90ís-style chain restaurant stuff: overly sweet, over priced, and Iím guessing all the same yeast. I asked to do a flight and the server grabs this copper pipe that had been flattened for the most part to slide through the handles of the little taster mugs (pretty good idea) and she filled them all quickly. It would have been impressive if she hadnít spilled some of each beer into the next taster over. Very sloppy, but then I guess you donít stop at SBC for a good beer. The White IPA was probably the best but thatís not saying much.

The food was only slightly better. I made the mistake of not reading the menu closely before ordering the Cuban sandwich. Itís actually in a tortilla. Hmm. Decent enough for what it was. The service was really slow too. Not sure if they were understaffed but the bartender spent very little time at the bar.

I wont be coming back.

I went there to try the beer. Took the 6 beer sampler, all but 2 were undrinkable. Nice staff and good service.

Saturday night in August. After a pleasant walk thru a nice little stretch of seductive restaurants, all teeming with folks, we arrived at SBC ... empty. Bad sign. Trust the crowds. After one beer, we switched to wine ... íNuff said. Food was average at best. At least the server was nice, but I hate places that compare their own house beers to macros. "The Vienna is like a Dos Equis." Ugh. Brewery #535.

Went to this place for lunch with my wife and 1 year old on a 100 degree day in July. Parking was a pain in the butt, but eventually found a public lot for $1/hour one block to the right of where the brewpub is located. Inside is nice, but just seems like a typical business casual restaraunt. Food was average but a bit pricey. You can get the sampler of 6 beers for $6 which is nice. Beers are all watery and uninspiring - seems like they are concerned with profit and not quality. Overall, worth a stop since thereís nothing else around but not noteworthy.

SBCís beer isnít anything special, but itís better than what youíll find at most downtown Stamford bars. The menu is vast and the food is average. Their service is usually very prompt and the waiters and bartenders are always friendly.

Stopped in while antiquing in the Stamford area for a brew. Very cold, industrial, warehouse atmosphere. Service was friendly, the food was fine, but the beer was not the best. Thin and watery and what they liken their brews to on the menu should be an indication of what was to come. I think next time Iím in Stamford, Iíll have wine.

This location has a decent selection of beers. Their traffic flow insures that their beers get rotated regularly. While not as good as the Southport location, this one does have a decent selection of their own brews.
