I canít remember how many times I have visited this place over the years (letís just say lotís) Our most recent visit on Saturday December 6th 2014 saw this just as popular as ever, seriously within 10-15 minutes of opening it is already packed, you really need to be here bang on opening time, we were very lucky this time as a table was free and we were 30 mins after opening. The beer choice is still huge and for Brugge still very reasonable we had a couple of De Dolle beers one of which was the special anniversary beer brewed for the pub. Btw they will let you bottles to takeaway. It is a great pub to sit in on a cold day or night at this time of year, the chat is great and the place is buzzing, for atmosphere it really reigns supreme, my rating moves up one notch to 92 this and Cafe Rose Red really are unbeatable in Brugge. This initial visit (see below) was years ago This truly is a shrine to beer for anyone in Brugge. The range of beers is probably second to none and as important the staffs knowledge of their beer stock is equally impressive. Itís a wonderfully simple place with no distractions to good chatter and beer drinking. My only real gripe is the opening hours, as I recall it doesní t open on a Wednesday and opens later in the afternoon, otherwise itís safely in my top ten pubs 90

In a small alleyway off the northern part of the main commercial street in the city - less than a couple of minutes walk west from the central square. This place is only open in the evenings and gets packed quickly. On arrival as a half-way house before dinner, the main front room was already packed with not a seat to be had at any of the small wooden tables in the small square room, nor on the stools at the bar to the left. We were shown into the back room past the toilets which was almost empty. The atmosphere didnít really compare in here to the front so it was somewhat disappointing, although I guess this part would have been full as well an hour or two later - so probably arrived at the worst possible time! The drinks were top notch though with keg options including Christmas seasonal brews complimenting large bottle selection that exists here.

First visited many years ago when I was still in my beer infancy. The place had acquired a bit of a legendary status in my mind. Returned there as part of a beertrip to Brugge. To my disappointment all the tables in the cozy front room where occupied, so we were taken to the back room, which has far less atmosphere. Oh well. Beer selection was ofcourse not as mesmerising to me as it was those many years ago, but itís still a fine menu with plenty of classic Belgian brews to enjoy. Service is very friendly and quick to offer suggestions. ít Beertje remains one of the top beer spots in Brugge. Next time I visit though, I will make sure to get a table in the front room.

The only trouble with this place is that it is very popular and hence very packed, hard to find a table, a lot of people who have no clue about the place (they just found it in passing) and hence not much clue about beer, hence those seeking it out plus passers by make it full most of the time. Good selection of bottled beers and if you need food De Hobbit is over the road for some endless ribs!

Cozy little bar tucked away in an old alley; a pretty cool location. Decor is standard for a Belgian beer cafe; a lot of Belgian beer signs and old looking stuff. Service has friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were very good for Bruges. Food was good as well, we had a Belgian cheese platter. Overall an excellent place, the only improvement that could be made would be to have more taps, because they only have five or six.

Located in a narrow lane within a stoneís throw from Markt, the place is an old, cozy bar, consisting of three small rooms. The selection is really good, featuring some of the best Belgian brews, although they are usually available in bottles, the number of taps being very limited. the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Reasonable prices given the location. Would love to come back.

Old school beer house, brown cafť style decorated with old beer paraphernalia as usual. Focuses on Belgian beers (beer pubs venturing into foreign beers is a more recent phenomenon which still has to reach Brugues, apparently). Their selection is extensive but didnít contain anything I havenít tasted elsewhere before. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and prices very reasonable. It was hugely crowded when I visited it though, no place to sit, but the mix of beer tourists and locals made it an agreeable place to be so that didnít bother me much. I would recommend this by default to any beer lover visiting Brugues - but I also recommend to combine it with the Brugs Bierfestival or something, as it doesnít justify a trip to Brugues just by its own.
