my favorite bar in town. always have a great selection of new beers from around the country on tap. bottle selection is great as well. one of the bartenders can always recommend the best new IPA they have on tap. first tasted racer 5, hopslam, and hopfest here. food is great too and the patio is amazing in the summer.

The Tap House is the only place to go in norfolk for beer snobs. Great selections from all over the world. For you hop heads they have the bells ipa right now if you havent had it go before its gone. say hi to gordon

This place had a great atmosphere during the day, though I think it turns into more of an ODU hangout at night. The staff was friendly and not too obtrusive. The total number of beers available was pretty good, but they had an excellent and varied selection both in bottle and on tap. The food was typical pub fare, along with some healthier offerings. Overall, a great place to go and get a couple beers and a small bite to eat.

A place I wish I had known about earlier. This place was great! They had some unique beers, and a lot of beers I love on draft. Bottle selection was fantastic as well, and only had a few beers out of stock (all were from the same company). They actually had a straightworward beer menu, so we knew exactly what we were getting before we got it. Nice staff, and only had to wait a few extra minutes than I would have wanted to for them to get us another round and the check, but hey, it was packed. Food smelled great, but we were already full before ariving, so we didn’t get any. Left before a band started to play. Compared to my horrid Bier Garden experience an hour prior to this, the place was Heaven.

Made my first of what I hope to be many visits on 4/25/06: Groovy little joint in a redeveloping section of Norfolk. The night I visited, they had 34 quality taps and probably another 60 in bottles, only 4 of which started with "bud" or "miller". The little pizza I had was pretty good, but the hard-to-find taps were even better. Too bad I was driving! Revisit soonest!

A interesting bar to go to down in Norfolk. They’ve got many unique beers that are hard to get including the only Westvleteren that I’ve found in Virginia. Great bar staff that remember who you are even if you’ve only been in there once. Lots of fun, and highly recommended.

Just went back to the Taphouse after about 5 years. Still a bit of a ODU college bar, but a fantastic selection. 32 beers on tap, and many, many more in a bottle. Had my first Westy 12 here! I did not eat, but gputty assures me his burger was great.

Solid beer selection with about 20 taps and 20-30 bottles available. With the demise of the handpump at Bier Garten, the Taphouse now has the only handpump in the area that I know of. Service is average, setting is not bad at all. Food is somewhat inventive, but nothing to write home about generally. People go there for the beer. Good beer bar, and I go there on a regular basis.

Went over the Christmas holiday, sat at the bar, service was great, beer selection was much better than other times i had been here. They had just gotten Westy 12 and 8, Rochefort 6, 8,10, and Rodenbach Grand Cru in. Also had some pretty decent tap selections as well. All in all, not a bad time

While I haven’t been in a while, this place was pretty good. We ended up going here when the Bier Garden was closed. They had a couple of beers on cask, including Smuttynose Old Brown Dog. We ate dinner here and the food was very good. This could have changed since last year, but at the time this place was great. The beer selection was above average and th service was good. Worth hitting up if you are anywhere near the area.
