The best beer bar in SLC. The selection is immense. The only problem with it is that the menu isn’t always updated with what is currently in stock. And some of the more ’exotic’ brews (ha! beer itself is exotic in this state) are often not available. The place can get real loud, which sucks for me and my bad hearing. The service is okay, though the waitresses are not really beer people. My only problem with this place is the food. I know people like it, but not me. My parents live in Louisiana, so I have an idea of what Cajun food is (sorry to sound arrogant) and this isn’t it. I’ve only tried a couple of things, both of which disappointed me, so I may be off on this, but I don’t think so. (Note: Everyone I go with to this place love the sweet potato fries. I don’t like sweet potatoes, so the fries don’t appeal to me. But you may love them.)

Could be a crowded place depending on the time of visit. Seating is first come first serve, which can suck. What doesn’t suck is the awesome food and the large diverse beer selection. I had the Jambalaya with crawfish and it was d-lish. I also took in a few local brews on tap from Red Rock, Uinta and Roosters. douglas88 enjoyed a 2004 vintage Cantillon Iris. The place has the goods alright. During my 10pm to 12am visit they had very nice live music too. If I ever move to SLC I’d need to be close enough to be a regular at this place.

A bar and restaurant - was totally packed on the night I was there, but I was able to get a table on their small outdoor patio right away. You basically have to pay a $5 charge to join their club or something to be able to buy good beer. They have a pretty good selection of both drafts and bottles, including some pretty high alcohol stuff (barleywines, etc.). Service was not all that knowledgeble, but they went to find out answers that didn’t know. The food was fairly standard bar food. I had the burger, and it was mediocre at best. Still, in a city that I thought of as a beer desert, this is a pretty good place.

Hey, was I surprised by this place?? No fucking shit. Beautiful women everywhere and a beer list that was very nice. Had a Piraat as the Karmaliet was gone. Have a live bands but this is a great beer bar for Utah.

Cool looking place, pool table at the back, long bar. I’m not a fan of these private club rules in Utah, but this place is worth paying what is essentially a five dollar cover. About 30 taps with a large selection of Utah microbrews. I didn’t eat but other people seemed to be enjoying what they had. Friendly staff. The premiere beer spot in the city, by far.

A jazz band is often playing, and the place is always packed. Forget about all that: there are over 200 types of beers here, and many really great ones. No trip tp SLC would be complete without. Some beers often available include many locals, Rochefort, Cantillion, Chimay, Full Sail, Big Sky, Fullers, and many more. The selection comes and goes, but is always excellent. Also check the ’off-the menu’ menu.

I love this place! Over 200 different labels from all over the world. A good mix of people and lifestyles with an emphasis on jazz and blues. Staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. They just went non-smoking even though Utah indoor smoking act dosn’t go into effect ’til 2009.

I give this place such a high rating because it’s got great beer selection from all over the world, surprisingly good food, good location and above all, it’s 10x better than any other place of this type in Salt Lake City. Check it out.
