76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 Graham77 (11) Glasgow, Scotland | March 4, 2013 Excellent selection of interesting bottled beers from around the world. | 44 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 7/20 Rune (319) Tromsø, Norway | April 21, 2012 Has got a good range of bottles from Scottish breweries like Williams Brothers and Black Isle, but little else. The international bottle selection is far from impressive. Rather disappointing, I would say. There should be better place to buy bottled beers in Glasgow than this place, or maybe I was there at the wrong time, the week after Easter. Polite service. Located next to the Kelvinbridge metro station and within walking distance from the University area. (visited 11.04.2012). | 82 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 rjkreid (9) , Scotland | April 6, 2012 Little gem of a bottle shop on Great Western Road in the West End of Glasgow. Undoubtedly the best bottle shop in Glasgow, stocking a range of beers with a focus on Belgium, German, American and Scottish beers. Would reiterate the great service as they will order beers based on customer recommendations. Reasonably good value considering the quality of the beer. | 62 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 11/20 downender (227) Bristol, England | July 18, 2010 Visited in June 2010. Pretty good off-licence although the display in the window was more impressive than what was actually available for sale. Good range of Scottish beers, particularly from Tryst and Williams Brothers, with some decent international beers. Worth a visit if in the area. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 JohnRMurdoch (243) Glasgow, Scotland | May 6, 2010| Updated April 30, 2012 Small specialist beer & wine shop in the west end of Glasgow close to Kelvin Bridge Underground. Good selection of Scottish and International beers, friendly helpful staff. Reasonable prices. After BrewDog best place for bottled beer in Glasgow. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 GarethYoung (26) Glasgow, Scotland | December 18, 2009| Updated August 14, 2010 Hands down the best bottle shop in Glasgow. An good selection of Belgians, a few Germans and, for Scotland, a brilliant selection of American beers. They stock Flying Dog, a wide range of Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn and Stone beers as well as some Victory beers and a few Goose Islands. Not cheap but perfectly reasonable for the quality of the selection. The staff are friendly and helpful and have ordered beers in a couple of times when I have asked for something specific. Has the added benefit for me of being about a 3-4 minute walk from my flat.
They selection can be slightly variable (sometimes they let the stock get a bit low) but generally a nice wee shoap. |
