84 Small spot, but quaint with a small bar and seating for about 15-20 people in the front and a pretty awesome bottle shop behind. Taps are plentiful and varied, with some good local stuff, including Russian River and Firestone Barrelworks beers. And if there isn't something that suits your fancy there, you can pay a corking fee on any cold bottle in the place. Bartenders are helpful and knowledgeable, and nicely dressed to boot. A small gem for sure. |
82 Visited after lunch on a Wednesday. Located on one of the main blocks of Central Davis. Outside patio area as you enter, with additional bar seating inside. 22 beers on draft along with a bottle and can selection that was pretty crazy and most everything was available as a single. Wish I had time to hang and have a beer, but was happy enough to buy a few great beers to go. 82 = ***½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
80 This place is quite small, which I wasn’t totally expecting. They have a small bar and bar area, and apparently you cannot take draft beers into the retail area and they’re very...serious about this. They made me move from the side of the bar where I was out of the way of the crowd right in front of the bar so I was in everyone’s way. Okay...
The beer list both on draft and bottle form is quite good, so I certainly cannot fault them there. For the most part, the pricing is pretty good and fair, I thought. Good mix of cold stock and beers out on the shelves with most of the new releases. Found a couple nice new ticks to pick up and enjoyed some Hawaiian Speedway on tap, so I can’t complain too much. |
72 good bottle shop with a seperate and small tap list that can be hit or miss, but usually has a couple interesting brews. |
66 My experience did not match the norm I guess. This place is pretty damn small, with beer around the walls including some coolers and a tasting/checkout area to the right as you enter. The entire bottom half of the beer area is devoted to multi-packs, so there are not nearly as many unique beers in the store as the 550 that the site shows, but I didnt count, so I wont change it. Standard Belgians and Germans, quite a bit of SoCal stuff and some locals. They had Stickee Monkey, which was nice. No Sudwerk at all for sale, which I thought was odd. I was fairly annoyed that this is one of those places that does not use their cooler space optimally. I saw a lot of double IPA’s sitting in shelves while things that did not require immediate refrigeration were hanging out in the coolers. Tap list for the tasting room was relatively uninteresting. Now maybe they get some good shit in at times, but based on this trip, it was a pretty average bottle shop. |
98 Best place in Davis for beer drinkers. The sitting area is pretty small because most of the shop is full of beer. |
82 I've been here numerous times, and it's the best spot in Davis to drink beer. Rare bottles are really hit-or-miss, as you never know when cases will be saves for tastings or sold immediately. Missed lots of rarer beers due to this. They get some great offerings on tap, however, so come for the tastings (listed on Facebook, day-of) and the tap beers (and hope you can get lucky with rarer bottles). |
90 Has a big selection of dry stock and chilled beers. has a few taps for tasting and some snacks. one of the better places in the greater sacramento area. |
100 So great to live so close to place like this. For those of us who love Craft brew, it doesn't get much better than this. |
92 Drove 50 miles one way to check this place out and it was WELL worth it. One of the BEST bottle shops i have walked into by FAR. Great beer selection and prices are right on for the most part. I was a little put of at first by the locals keeping a draft beer on the down low but then figured out is was a joke about the younger. Very cool place and will be back. |
